I have to agree with Alix’s comments… Not only one of the best ball parks in Alberta if not Canada, the food is great. I played in a 42 team Batwars tournament and what a great experience, they take care of the park like it’s their own home, diamonds are always groomed, the food is fresh, fresh, fresh… I had the Smoked brisket sandwich WOW, whoever is making that, knows what they are doing, it was like I was back in home eating some of the most mouth watering, tender smoked to perfection BBQ Texas style. Also tried the Taco bag and Chicken ranch wrap, all for just 5 bucks and the portions are huge, tasty and fresh(did I say that already). The best part is that you get to watch some great ball games while eating… most entertaining. I look forward to coming back and playing ball, what a great facility… moreover, if ball doesn’t come my way, I’ll stop by just for the food.

Come September, over 250 of the roughest, toughest, bestest slo pitch teams in Western Canada converge at the Jaycee Slowpitch Park for the World Series(of Western Canada). Alberta is a natural home for this annual tournament as rumour has it(and I believe it) that we have the highest number of slo pitch players per capita in North America. Yes — we love our slo pitch. Jaycee is a beautiful, well maintained private facility with 4 quads(well technically 3 quad’s and a triple). 19 fields in in total, 15 of them are for slo pitch and 4 for fast pitch. Each field is completely shale and has covered dugouts with picnic tables at each end. The fields are impeccably maintained, with a full field drainage system to ensure that rain(and sometimes snow) doesn’t puddle at home base or in left field. Each quad has a playground for kids which is completed caged in so foul balls aren’t giving 4 year olds concussions. Each quad has a covered concession with washrooms that having warm, running water(more rare than you’d think). The concession’s have — are you ready for it — fully equipped bars with hard liquid and cold beer. They don’t serve wine — yet. Each concession also has a good sized kitchen — so burgers, fries, hot dogs, tons of food options, including the deservingly infamous Taco Salad Bag, which is literally crushed Doritos, fresh lettuce & tomato, cheddar cheese, ground beef, salsa and sour cream, all in a Doritos bag. For $ 5. Go there now. Jaycee updates its website regularly with the standings for all the teams, field conditions, upcoming events, rules, regulations and the ever changing legal bat list. If you ever have the chance to play at Jaycee, take it. It’s a first class ball diamond.
