Green Learning Academy is a non-​profit Calgary private school offering Preschool to Grade 12 (High School Blended Program), that focus on the whole child. Students have a choice in how they wish to learn, which results in responsible, respectful and resourceful individuals. Students achieve personal, academic and life skill successes today and into the future through the implementation of Student-​Directed Teaching.

Student-​Directed Teaching is an innovative educational program developed by Don Green which incorporates the Alberta Learning Curriculum using Teaching Styles in conjunction with your child’s individual learning preferences.

History

Established in 2000.

In 1986, the Canadian government chose Don and Anne Green to solve a problem: Gifted and talented children weren’t being challenged in traditional classrooms.

The answer was student-​directed teaching, 5 new techniques that require students to take ownership of their education.

The result is motivated, disciplined, willing students who rise to the level of their potential.

And it works with every student, not just the gifted.
