History

Established in 2002.

Editarians was founded in 2002 under the name Documedic Editing Solutions. Our aim was simple: do an unparalleled job of perfecting clients’ written work. In 2005, we began expanding our editing team and building a foolproof workflow process. In 2008, we formalized our compliance with the Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA). In 2009, we began surveying clients to make sure we were meeting – or exceeding – their expectations. In 2011, we applied to the Better Business Bureau (BBB) and received an A+ rating. In 2012, we changed our name to Editarians: We are more than editors who just fix text. To us, editing is about working with our clients to create an amazing finished product that will help them achieve their goals. We’re more than editors, we’re Editarians! Business Owner

Karen has loved language from an early age, drawn to how it is paradoxically precise and fluid. She’ll tell you that English is full of potential and poetry and power – and yes, it matters where the apostrophes and commas go! She graduated with a BA with distinction in 1992 and moved to Japan, where she worked as a teacher, created ESL courses, supervised English content in a bilingual magazine, edited bilingual novels, consulted, and wrote a weekly newspaper column. She founded Documedic Editing Solutions, now Editarians, in 2002. Since that time she has assisted hundreds of clients, crafting their documents such that they convey powerfully and precisely – and perhaps even poetically – what was intended. She looks forward to collaborating with you to hone your writing in the very near future.
