Dolce Salon

I have been seeing Kristy for years, I follow her anywhere she goes! She’s been at Dolce quite awhile now and we both agree it’s a great salon to visit and work for. Staff are always happy, smiling, inviting and it’s a great environment to be in. The reason I will only see Kristy is because I’ve got very thick, long curly hair. I can’t even count how many hairdressers have told me that they know how to cut curly hair and I end up looking like a poodle lol Kristy is amazingly talented, in my cuts and colors! I’ve been so happy with her work that I’ve referred friends as well!

I see Olga for waxing. She is great! Really quick, does an excellent job, fun to chat with, and reasonably priced. I am terrible at guessing how often I’ll need a waxing appointment, but Dolce is great because I can usually get in the same day or within a couple of days at most. The front desk staff have always been polite and helpful.

Like the last person posting, I have been going to Dolce for quite some time. I really like my stylist, Heather but she is away. In her absence, I did not have a preference for someone to cut my son’s hair. We came by on the previous night hoping to get a walk in appointment. When that was unavailable and while we were in clear sight, we made an appointment for the following morning. We walked in and the stylist, greeted us with, «this will be interesting». Did I mention my son was black?
There was only one other chair in use, so I think they chose this guy on purpose. He did not touch my son’s hair, but pointed to it. We described the cut and he asked my 10 year old son which blade several times, even after I explained that he was 10 and had no idea. The cut was short on sides and longer on top. I then put fauxhawk into my phone and showed him several different examples. The first one was a white kid, well that wouldn’t work, the second a black kid but my son’s hair was shorter on top and the third was a black guy who’s hair looked like little springs. The hairdresser informed me that — THEY get perms to get their hair to look like that. I mentioned that my son’s hair looked exactly like that when it was clean. He told me it wasn’t. I guess all black guys have identical hair. I hopped up found a manager who seemed nice but not helpful and I left.
We popped into Master Cuts and a woman about 55 who was not in any way trying to look hip, greeted us at the door. We told her what we wanted and she said sure. I asked again to make sure and she looked at me like I was crazy, she was after all a hairdresser and this was hair. Probably saved $ 40.00 and he loves his hair.
