I found the juice to be quite good, probably the best I’ve had that wasn’t made at home. I had one of their holiday limited time only juices. The lady at the register was quite knowledgeable and helpful in getting me info on all the juices available at that time. My only issue with Cru Juice and a lot of trendy places in Calgary is that it is made for people with a six-figure income but marketed towards the creative professional who makes half that. Sure, there are $ 4 items like water and nuts(or how about a $ 3 raw chocolate peanut butter cup?); however, most juice items are $ 7 to $ 12. Is it sustainable? Only time will tell, especially in this market. I’m happy that the company is doing well and opening up various locations. However, I won’t be a regular customer. I may perhaps stop in if I just landed a new client or finished a large project to celebrate. I’ll continue making my own juice and/or stopping in at a Jugo Juice and pay half the price.

I was first introduced to Cru Juice at the Apple Watch Launch. I had Dirty Lemonade for the first time and it is still one of my favourites! Spicy Lemonade is delightful as well, but careful. It can be pretty spicy! Ménage a trois is creamy and delicious. If you enjoy the taste of coffee I would definitely recommend Stone-cold Rosso. The OC is magnificent, but you can taste ginger at the end. So, if the taste of ginger isn’t your favourite maybe hold off on that one. Who doesn’t like blueberries?! Blue My Mind smooth and sweet, but not overpowering. I personally really enjoy Pumped Up Kicks and it’s always my go to when I’m introducing someone to Cru Juice. Finally, if you are looking for something light and incredibly freshing, I would recommend my new favourite: Model Slash Actor. I have no complains. The service is amazing. The drinks are amazing AND it always smells delicious! 10⁄10. I go every chance I get!

My thoughts on the three day Go Easy Cleanse. Ordering and pickup — easy and convenient. You can pick up either on Tuesday or Saturday(to start the following day) at their bridgeland location or inside Holt Renfrew. Only snag I hit while ordering that it could not be done online with a gift card, but that was easily resolved with a phone call. For the three day cleanse, you are only supposed to drink the juice. No eating. You should supplement with water, and are allowed to drink herbal tea and allowed one coffee per day(with no dairy in it). Juices are consumed about 2 hours apart, 6 per day. You should start your day with a large glass of water before the first juice. Juice 1 — #greenjuice. Contains kale, cucumber, green apple, celery, parsley, lemon, ginger, chlorella. Oh man, this was a daunting juice to start with. Don’t sip this one. Chug it. Fast. Juice 2 — Pumped Up Kicks. Contains pineapple, apple, lemon, mint and aloe Vera. This one is nice, sweet yet refreshing. Juice 3 — the OC. Contains carrot, orange, pineapple, ginger and turmeric. The spices add a nice kick and make this a little more interesting that just plain carrot juice. The orange and pineapple give it just enough sweetness. Juice 4 — Bad Boy Brown. Contains almonds, cashews, medjool dates, raw cacao, raw honey, maca root, sea salt. This one is a nice change in the mix. Not overly sweet, but definitely enjoyed. Juice 5 — 50 Shades of Green. Contains romaine, spinach, fennel, cilantro, orange, pineapple. Ugh, another green juice. Don’t be fooled by the Orange and pineapple, this one is another one you should chug and get over quickly. Juice 6 — Dirty Lemonade. Contains lemon, bentonite clay, zeolite, activated charcoal, sundried sugar cane, and filtered water. Don’t be scared by the dark color of this one, mostly just tastes like lemonade. I was surprised that I wasn’t starving on this cleanse. You are filling yourself with a lot of liquids, so it definitely keeps you satiated.(That being said, I still don’t recommend watching the Food Network during the 3 days of the cleanse). I would be interested to try the Ménage a Trois, Blue my Mind and Stone Cold Rosso in the future.

Cru Juice was available at the Apple Watch launch at the Apple Store Market Mall. My sister grabbed me a dirty lemonade, and while it wasn’t my favourite drink(not a huge fan of lemonade!), we decided to stop at Cru Juice on our way to the women’s show the next day. We almost missed Cru Juice because it’s located on an unassuming corner off Memorial Drive. There was a lot of activity there when we walked in, but we were promptly helped. We ended up getting four juices — spicy lemonade, pumped up kicks, ménage a trois and cold stone rosso. The pumped up kicks was AMAZING. I sipped it slowly as we walked around the women’s show and I definitely felt invigorated and sated — no unhealthy snacking at the show for me! Cru Juice can seem quite expensive, but it’s wel worth the investment for fresh ingredients!

Stopped in at CruJuice last Sunday, after hearing so many people in my spin class rant and rave about how amazing it was, and guess what … THEYWERERIGHT! What I found is that this shop isn’t your run of the mill, smoothie or juice place. CruJuice is a juice bar with fresh raw ingredients that are cold pressed into juice and that means that the juices have an actual expiration date because they are not frozen. It’s refreshing to enter a true juice shop, and know that what you are purchasing is real, healthy, pure, super foods in their true form. The woman working in the store was super informative and knowledgeable. She explained to me the difference between the juices and the differentiating health benefits of them all. I ended up ordering the C2: Dirty Lemonade which had lemon, raw honey, bentonite clay, premium activated zeolite, activated charcoal, and filtered water. It was by far the smoothest charcoal enriched drink I have ever had, and would highly recommend it for anyone looking for a refreshing but detoxifying drink. She also was telling me about there different detox programs, and I plan to do one in April. The one I am interested in is the 3 Day Detox where they cold press the juices and deliver them to your house with instructions on which ones to drink each day, and what order to consume them in. Each day you will be drinking 6 specific juices. The only negative thing I have to say was that the shop was uncomfortably hot. There’s no way I could have sat in the shop and been able to enjoy my drink. I’m hoping that the shops temperature was due to the unseasonably warm weather we are experiencing right now and that the people working that day didn’t know how to turn the heat down. Overall, if you’re looking for a delicious drink with amazing health benefits, stop in at CruJuice and you’ll be seriously impressed!

Stopped in at Cru Juice with some friends on Saturday morning and all 3 of us ordered the same juice, «Bad Boy Brown», which is a dairy-free nut milk with: Almonds Cashews Medjool Dates Raw Cacao Raw Honey Maca Root Sea Salt I thought it was awesome — the three of us agreed it was just a touch too sweet. The store looks awesome, service was friendly! Prices might seem a bit high to some, but for fresh quality ingredients I definitely think it’s worth it! I love their logo and packaging too. Can’t wait to go again and try the«dirty lemonade». Check out their website for pictures and descriptions of all their juices, then walk over the bridge and grab one!
