Description

Specialties

Calgary Humane Society (CHS) is more than a shelter; connecting the lives of animals and people and providing an essential community service since 1922. CHS shelters more than 6,000 homeless animals each year. While in our care they receive: veterinary treatment, stress reduction, nutritious food, behaviour assessment and modification, individual attention, lots of TLC and a second chance.

CHS values respect, compassion, team work, integrity and commitment. Through collaboration and education, CHS works to ensure all animals in our care find a happy and healthy forever home.

History

Established in 1922.

In 1922 when Calgary Humane Society was first opened by Ellen Foster, care was provided to both vulnerable animals and people. Over the years CHS has established itself as an essential community service provider.
