Neeli from advance hair salon is the BEST. Beautiful and talented with hair, she’s nothing short of amazing. The quality of her service is outstanding. She’s great with blondes (Im sure she’s great with all colours but from my personal experience as Im a natural brunette who goes platinum blonde, I know she’s great. She actually created a quick toner that works like a charm! I’ve had toners burn before and it can be so uncomfortable and they have to sit on your head for at least 15 – 30 mins! This one is less than 3 minutes ! Amazing!), she’s also amazing at up dos, cuts, styling. And She’s quick and efficient! If you’re like me and don’t like sitting around for 3 – 4 hours on end in a chair (I’ve definitely experienced that before! Not my cup of tea!) she does Roots, toner, wash, blow dry & style all within 2 hours! She’s fantastic with brows too! Usually when a girl has amazing eyebrows herself, that’s a great indication that she will do a fantastic job! She’s so incredibly talented that when I moved to Kelowna from Calgary, I would actually continue to fly into Calgary just to get my hair done! I would fly from Kelowna, or drive (weather permitting lol) to get my hair done, She’s That great .
I will add that Benny from advance salon is a great stylist as well, he’s quick and efficient and does a great job. He’s clearly passionate about hair, and that’s very important. I would recommend him as well. I’m currently traveling out of the country and can’t wait to get back just to get my hair done by neeli again!

I had one of the best facials and a wonderful massage done by Rumi, I booked the get pampered package which was priced at $ 130. While getting facial she asked what kind of facial I wanted and I told her the one that came with the get pampered package, then a little later she told me the facial was $ 70. and the massage was $ 80., no I told her I booked the package which was $ 130, oh she said that I must have had the Sunridge brochure. No my fiancé came by especially to make sure services were the same and got brochure from here. Oh ok she says and carried on. So after really enjoying her services and promising to be back and recommend her what did she do but try to charge me the $ 150. Which I had to point out at the desk and get them to give me the $ 20. back. Then she tried to say it was an old brochure and price in new one was $ 165. Which was really ridiculous as they price packages lower than the normal price not more. Unfortunately that just ticked me off so although she was good I won’t be back. I also had lash extensions done, first time and though it took me a bit to get used to the girl who did them did a fine job, they look nice and have had a lot of compliments on them.

Quality of service varies depending on who you get. I’ve had people who were really good and a few who needed a close eye kept on them so they don’t hurt you with over-​hot wax or jack up your eyebrows — all my visits have been for waxing
Still can’t beat the convenient location of being in chinook mall though

I’m a DIY kind of lady. Nails, paint them myself. Hair, been dyeing it at home since I was 10. When I saw my siblings dropping stacks at the salon every month to get their brows threaded, I was like, «What. I can do that myself!» So I watched a video on YouTube and I learned how to thread my own brows. It’s easy.
But sometimes, you have to appreciate an expert that will treat you right. Sure you can do it yourself, but some days you just don’t want to.
My brother has been getting his eyebrows threaded by Neeli for years, at a different salon, and followed her here because he only trusts her with his brows and hair. The right stylist is so important, that person is partly responsible for how you present yourself, and if they do right by you, it not only makes you look good; you feel good, you stand a little taller because you know you look good.
But, back to threading. I got my brows threaded here because I wanted to treat myself to the luxury of not having to spend my Thursday evening threading my own brows. I had been growing them out a little, hoping to reshape them in to something presentable, for my birthday. See, I was a teenager in the mid-​late 90’s, so I subjected my brows to some horrors unspeakable. I wanted them to be thin like Drew Barrymore’s were on the cover of YM. As a result, I have hairs that never grew back, and my brows have been pretty sparse ever since. On top of that, they’re much paler than the hair that grows out of my head, so I fill them in with brow powder. They’re a mess, and I usually just thread to maintain the strays.
When the lovely Hadiya saw the state my brows were in, she clucked her tongue and tsk tsk’ed at what I had done to myself, and I explained to her that I did it when I was a teenager and didn’t know better. She took me to a padded room in the back, and quickly whipped them in to a much more presentable shape. She told me to stop plucking certain hairs to maintain the shape she wanted, because their current shape is a hot mess, I explained those hairs are never growing back. Stupid Drew Barrymore on YM! Why did I listen to you?! She threaded and trimmed with a teeny pair of scissors, and when she was done, my brows looked…
OMG. I don’t know how she did it. She made them look fuller and fixed their shape in a way that frames my eyes elegantly. And she did it with a lot less pain than one might experience with waxing (threading is much better for you, because the skin around your eyes is very delicate, and all that tugging waxing and plucking does will cause wrinkles).
Brow science! I now spend less time painstakingly filling them in with my brow powder, and don’t freak out when I leave the house without filling them in at all.
Thanks, Hadiya! You’re a boss! Advance accepts walk-​ins as well (I didn’t make an appointment), but if you go, I would recommend seeing Hadiya and Neeli. They’ve been making my family look presentable for years. And the price, for Calgary, was incredibly reasonable. I would consider making this a regular thing!

Great service… People here is very friendly and the prices are not bad. I went there for my pedicure and it was very good. I enter there as a walk in, while I was shopping in the chinook mall. And I didn’t have to wait. I had a good time, and I would like to go back there…
