Description

Specialties

Albion Orchards is a local farm specializing in the growing of fresh Ontario apples. More than 6000 fruit trees (over 20 varieties) are cultivated on a 50 acre parcel of farmland perfectly suited for tree fruits. The other main crops are pumpkins and Christmas trees.

The farm hosts school trips and other groups for fun and education. A seasonal Country Market offers fresh baked pies, and other food items. The store also sells an excellent assortment of Local Ontario treats including Fresh Apple Cider, Honey, Maple Syrup, preserves and sauces, cookies, jams, lots of other tasty treats and snacks, along with crafts, seasonal décor and gifts.

History

Established in 1967.

Albion Orchards has been operating nearly 50 years. The orchard was originally planted out with a dozen or so hardy varieties of apples. Over the years many newer apple types have been added to the mix (over 20) along with other fruits and vegetables. In the 90’s more and more local farm visitors already used to buying low-cost fresh picked fruit were wanting to have the chance to pick their own apples. Pick-your own is now a yearly tradition for eager families from all over the Greater Toronto Area who come to the Orchard & Country Market each Fall Harvest time to satisfy their senses and take in the scenery. Halloween Pumpkins and Christmas trees are also grown at Albion Orchards.
