If you live nearby and you absolutely need something quickly, this store is regretfully convenient. In just about every other aspect it falls short. The products are at least 50% more expensive than other places. For example, 12 cans of Coke for $ 6.99 vs. when Safeway has a sale it’s 3 boxes of 12 cans for $ 10. Their produce is okay but avoid their meat section; I don’t know how they get away with selling what often appears to be spoiled meat… slapping a savings sticker on it is not worth the health risk in my view. In fairness this seems to have improved lately, but since hardly anybody shops there it’s doubtful they sell enough to constantly put out fresh meat. The one thing that is good are the sandwiches. $ 4.99 for a thick stack of cold cuts is a good deal. For everything else, take a drive to some other store.

I know they are trying, and they do a few things well(such as hot, prepared food), but otherwise the store is a glorified 7 – 11. Tons of processed, packaged, sugar-laden, franken-food. Little in the way of real food, almost nothing organic. Sure do miss the IGA that was there for decades, and which reportedly pulled out very reluctantly due to all manner of structural problems with the building, which did take better than a year to address(and who must of done 10 times the business as the Super Valu now does). Great example of completely misreading the demographics of the neighbourhood and setting up a «lowest denominator» style supermarket. Even after two years the store has attracted very little business. Have no idea how they are managing to stay afloat. Guess this is what happens when investors or corporate-types determine from afar what kind of grocery store a community should have, rather than the decisions being made by people who actually know, understand, or communicate with said community. About all that’s left to do is withdraw any remaining support for the Super Value in hopes of hastening its demise, in greater hope that a real, proper grocery store will take over, one that actually speaks to the community-at-large instead of to the smattering of lower-income households nearby.

This store is an absolute waste of space!!! I’ve been disappointed every single time I go there. I sure miss the IGA that was there for eons.

This place is convenient but lacks quite a few staple items. All bulk section items are pre packaged and there are very few organic items available. Seems a lot more like a deli with some dry goods than a grocery store, but if you need milk/juice/eggs and you don’t want to go to a larger chain store, this one will suit.
