We are a Café that specializes in fantastic house made sandwiches, homemade soups and in house made and baked goods. We also strive to serve you the best coffee and coffee drinks anywhere on the SFU campus.

We have great WIFI so students or anyone is free to spend time here to study or just a couple friends hanging out on our front patio furniture enjoying the sunset and feel at home.

History

Established in 2005.

The business started out as a very strict Organic Deli. New management has come in and modernized the menu geared more for everyone. We still use organic wherever we can and most everything is made fresh in house including our own Chorizo sausage used for our top selling burritos.

I had the quinoa salad once and the vegetarian burrito the other time. Both times felt that it was pricey. What made me come and bother to write a review was how terrible the burrito was. I understand the importance of having a place that serves food with organic ingredients, but that doesn’t make up for how something should actually taste.

I have actually been here a lot when I took a course down at SFU and this was my saving grace for those times in which I didn’t pack enough food with me which can happen, especially when you’re working the 9 – 5 and then taking some night courses. The minute you walk in it is very busy with lots of posted notes from and to campus, lots of selections to choose from. Be prepared to stare at the menu for a good 10 minutes while you decided. Even though the menu doesn’t change I still found myself doing the 10 minute menu stare each week. TONS of organic and gluten free options which is very appreciated. Not feeling the mint green décor but somehow you get used to it. Prices aren’t that user friendly which is surprising since it’s mostly students around here, however, when there is no competition beggers can’t be choosers.

As others have mentioned, the prices are a bit steep for deli food. But all their ingredients are as organic and local as possible. There are also options for vegetarians, vegans, and gluten-​intolerant customers. The staff have always been friendly and helpful. Every time I’ve gone to Nature’s Garden there has been a line-​up, so they’re definitely appreciated by the community. But don’t worry, the line moves quickly.
They offer a discount on coffee if you bring your own mug. There’s not a lot of seating, so it’s good if you’re just catching up with a friend (not for studying).
The main reason I don’t go here often for food is the price. If I’m just grabbing a coffee, there are multiple options so I’d go wherever is the closest.

This used to be a very good place before it changed ownership. My favourite on campus and the only one where I’d eat. Unfortunately, under the new management, the quality of food is rapidly going downhill. The formerly delicious scones served with soups are now twice as small and are often dry and stale (if you make a scone smaller, you have to bake it less time!). Greek lentil soup (formerly delicious!) is so peppery, impossible to eat, because it makes me cough from all that pepper! Broccoli salad reeked of baking soda. And beet salad that I had a few months back had so much vinegar, it made my eyes stink.
I noticed that the customer base is draining, because this place is nearly not as busy as it used to be when Dolores cooked. If the new owners want to keep their business running, they should stick to the old recipes and follow them to the letter.

I come here to get a piece of soft and delicious gluten-​free dairy-​free cake wrapped in saran wrap like as if my Mom made it for my school lunch. Love it.

I go to Nature’s Garden for a coffee break almost every day. I usually say that it’s the only good food you can have at SFU (or at least under 10 dollars). Their sandwiches are awesome, but quite expensive. The muffins are also very good.
Everything is as organic and local as possible, and they also have vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-​free options.
Apart from the food, the service is very friendly, and, contrary to every other place at SFU, the ambient is pretty much of a cozy family business.

I usually order their large salad (broccoli, spicy tofu and greek orzo). Really like it but the place is kinda pricey. The large salad cost me $ 9.50. I think most of the food is homemade because they taste authentic and importantly healthy. I will definitely come back on days when I dont mind spending too much on a salad!

Some items are a bit on the pricey side, but the food is almost always quite good here. My favourite is the ham and cheese, though they make plenty of dishes. A friend told me that the borscht was incredible, though I’ve never tried it.
The service is always incredibly friendly, and the atmosphere inside is probably the coziest you’ll find up on the mountain.

Since it is located on a college campus, it is impressive that Nature’s Garden (NGOD) offers options for vegans, vegetarians, and gluten-​free diets. However, the food itself needs a little work. The sandwiches and related lunch items that I have tried at NGOD have been somewhat flavorless and under-​filled (literally, very few fillings — mostly bread).

By far the BEST food on campus. Great place to eat good food that is healthy and delicious with fair pricing.
Only one complaint… it closes at 6 and those of us who teach or take classes in the evening .with a 6 o’clock break… can’t eat there.

I wandered in here because i saw Organic written on it. They have the cheapest coffee on campus $ 1! It’s cheaper if you bring your own cup. It’s fair trade coffee too. Feel good all around.

Nature’s Garden is hands down the best place to eat on SFU Burnaby Campus. Well, at least for a vegan. They also serve organic meats and eggs, and the owners talked my ear off about how passionate they are about buying from ethical and sustainable sources.
Everything you can buy here is the owner’s own recipe. Most of the food is pretty delicious — no complaints. Their vegan sandwich is divine — full of fresh vegetables, with a healthy slather of vegan mayonnaise. They also have gluten-​free bread available.
Nature’s Garden also offers the cheapest coffee on the mountain, especially if you bring your own cup. I love that they promote less waste!
This is NOT, however, a quiet place to study. No wi-​fi, and there’s often loud conversations and/​or babies in there.

I love the selection of salads Natures Garden serves. Normally I’m more of a soup and sandwich/​wrap kind of girl, but the flavour and heartiness of the potato and mediterranean salads has relaly won me over.
I appreciate that this place is 100% locally and independently owned, and that I see the owner taking part in pretty much every UniverCity neighbourhood function.
Only downer is that — apart from the coffee, which is a great deal — the price is a little steep for me to make it my lunch place du jour. I do think the value is there, it’s just I can’t afford to eat organic every day!
