I was very surprised to read the other reviews on this store, but they were much older reviews and my experience was based only over the phone, so that could be why as well.
I was shopping on their online website and had some questions on a few products and shipping. I called in and spoke to a guy on the phone. I think his name was Wilson. He was very polite and patient with me the entire call. I was talking to him for a good 10 minutes. I ended up buying a wallet and a handbag with free shipping. When I received them both, they were as he said they were. I am very happy with my purchase and the service I received.

I wanted to purchase a bag since my Mom’s birthday was coming up. When I entered the store I was greeted with dirty looks from the sales people. Nobody acknowledged or said hi or are you finding everything okay as I was browsing.
when I looked around to see if there was a sales person to assist me and offer suggestions I couldn’t find anyone. They were all huddled in a corner talking and giving me death stares. Feeling uncomfortable and annoyed I left the store and no purchase in hand. I don’t get why these girls have to be snobby and unhelpful when their job is customer service and selling.

I hate the staff and their customer service at ALL LOCATIONS a lot. I always shop from holt renfrew to buy mk but for the past few times i went to shop from them and they are very rude and disrespectful … My suggestion is shop from holt renfrew or browns if u want to buy michael kors

Good news, the staffs not pushy with their sales. Bad news, some of them are not there to sell.
I get IT, that employees are working in Metrotown. The mall gets overly busy and chaotic. There are people shopping by the masses and the merchandise sells itself thanks to good marketing, but they should at least try and do their job as a SALES associate.
I gave 2 out of 5 stars because I had experienced good customer service one out of three times I’ve been there. But today’s service was so bad, I left the store thinking — wow — she really sucked.
Short story (because that’s all the service I got) I found a sales associate standing around with no customers around her, so I thought she could help. I asked her for a particular color of a bag (pretty common question right?) she tells me nope, gives me 15 seconds of her time and looks away. I ask her another question, shes answer promptly, but then looks out the entrance again… At this point, I’m not exactly sure if she’s waiting for someone or I’m just bothering her, but she clearly wasn’t going to help me. So I left… with my money in tow.
Overall, the store looks nice and staff are dressed nicely, but that’s about it.
They sort of skip out on customer service. Maybe staff need more training or focus on good customer service, but they have room for improvement. Bottom line, I wouldn’t be returning any time soon.

Service is friendly, maybe overly friendly it becomes reallly fake. But still, better than poor, inattentive service. However proper procedure and protocol needs to be improved.
I saw a bag I really liked on sale, so I decided to buy it with the $ 100 gift card I have been holding onto for a while. After I gave her the gift card to use, she scanned the bag and told me the price (without the gift card applied) and asked how i’d like to pay… I thought it was fishy and strange thay she didnt apply the gift card to the price, what if I paid thinking the gift card was applied already? Would she have kept the gift card?
Also, after the payment was processed, she was about to hand me my receipt, then took it back because she forgot to do something, which was stamp FINAL SALE on it. This to me was the most annoying thing ever!!. It Gave me an incredibly bad lasting impression because not ONCE did she say it would be a final sale. Even though I planned to keep it, it is so important to state this before the sale or even when she stamped it. I have been in high end retail for over 3 years and this is unacceptable. It just shows that the staff only care about making a sale and sneakily avoid proper procedure. If the sales girl Janelle reads this she should take note of this to avoid any future customer issues. We are not idiots.

I’ve been in here a few times to look at shoe porn with my girlfriends as she loves high heels and I love boots. She saves for her boots and I just dream of having extra $$$ for boots (I spend them on concerts). I will admit that the staff are less to be desired, however, I try not to hold it too much against them. They are after all working in a mall. Never met the manager, however, I did hear her in the back yelling at the sales lady when my friend and I were there which bothered me a bit. Unfair treatment of retail staff in general gets under my skin. This place gets a 3 star based on the selection which is better than the other local locations. Oakridge staff are amazing but selection is less to be desired.

My previous experience with the staff at this store has always been poor, bad service, too busy chatting with each other to help anyone, you often have to force them to help you rather then them offer. This last time I had help from a really nice employee who was super helpful and made me re-​think it here! I usually go to oakridge because the staff there are amazing, but I might pop in here more often for convenience now.
