Ok this review is a bit dated because it’s based on my experience from 2006. I know, why bother right? Well it was so awful that I do not want anyone to have to go through what I did and because I had to go elsewhere to get things fixed after their screw ups. I made an appointment here because I needed to have my wisdom teeth out. All four were impacted and so all four had to be removed surgically. When I went for my first appointment things went as normal at first. After my cleaning had been done the hygienist pulled up a chair and acted like we were going to have a heart to heart talk. She wanted to know how I really felt about my smile. I’ve got an amazing smile that gets a lot of compliments so I just smiled at her and said that I liked it. She kept pressing to find out whether there was something that I wanted to change. Nope. Just the wisdom teeth out please. Oh but there had to be something that I’d change right? No. I was starting to feel pressured. I finally got her to understand that I did not want any cosmetic procedures done and she scheduled a filling for a tiny cavity mentioned that it would be about a year’s wait time for the wisdom teeth because I’d need to be put under and they would do that at a hospital. I said to not worry and that I was visiting family in another town soon and that I could just have the teeth out while I was there. I didn’t stop to think that procedures are money to them and I was impressed when she said that they would bring an anaesthesiologist in for me to have everything done there in a few weeks. She made it very clear that I’d need to be unconscious for the surgery because it would be awful. So I went for my filling while I waited. It was really big and I couldn’t bite down properly afterwards. I’d been told that I had a «tiny» cavity that they were going to fill out of caution. They made it so huge that you could see it through my tooth. The sides of my tooth were transparent! Yikes! I went back and they ground it down for me so that it didn’t affect my bite but something didn’t seal properly after that. Anyhow. A week before the surgery I called to confirm and was told by the receptionist that she«was rather overwhelmed at the moment» and said that she would call back. She didn’t. I called the next day and was told that they would call me to confirm and to stop calling and just wait. So the day before the surgery I did call to see if I needed to do anything to prepare. They seemed confused and I said that I hadn’t been put under before and wanted to know if I should avoid eating/drinking or anything like that. The receptionist said that I wasn’t being put under and that I was just having four impacted wisdom teeth surgically removed. My mouth would be numb and I’d be fully conscious. I explained that I had been told otherwise and then had to scramble, to call my insurance company in Ontario before they closed for the day to prove that we had submitted paperwork for an anesthesiologist. I called the dentist back and the receptionist said that everything was cleared up. She also said that she was relieved because she would never recommend being conscious for a procedure like that. They called my cell the next day a half hour before my appointment. Apparently the anaesthesiologist had plans for that evening and wasn’t able to do the procedure. They offered to reschedule. I couldn’t take any more time off work. I had already used my vacation days to have this done. I got a bit stern and said that they had a half hour to fix things. They did. While I was waiting I asked if I would need to fill prescriptions for painkillers and whether I could run and do that while I waited for them. They told me that they didn’t do that and that I’d have to wait until after the procedure. The procedure went fine. I woke up long enough to see bloody things and I went back to sleep. I was really out of it and I still had to go and fill my prescription. I got dry socket in two spots. It didn’t hurt(apparently I’m a freak) and I had stopped taking the painkillers because they made me sick. I called them after about five days because the swelling was worse and they said that if there was no pain I was fine. I gave it another day and then saw my doctor. He insisted that I take different painkillers because he didn’t believe that I could have such a bad case of dry socket and not hurt. I finally got in to the dentist a couple of days later. OMG. That hurt. I was in tears by the end and they wouldn’t even offer me a tissue. The receptionist had me sign papers when I left. She had a big box of tissues right there and I was covered in tears and finally had to ask her for one. So then they called two weeks later to say that they had billed me incorrectly and that I still owed them money. After all that. And the kicker? That filling that was way too big and that wasn’t really supposed to be anything? It cracked my tooth in half and I had to get a crown. Awesome

The best dentist office I have ever been too! so professional and considerate. I have arthritis in my back and they were very conscience of my comfort. ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-)
