I had to warranty a LG microwave for a broken turntable glass which cracked during use and filled out the request (serial #, model incl.) which led me to IT Electronics. Received a quick response and they ask me to bring the unit in.
I bring it in with store receipt and they process the paperwork and so I’m thinking things should go smoothly. I reiterate that the unit itself is functioning just need a replacement glass and they didn’t make any mention of any potential roadblocks.
I get a follow up call after the weekend informing me that my model is not on the eco-​list — aka not worth going through warranty aka not touching it, contact store where purchased and come pick up your microwave. When asked what was the point of making me lug the microwave to them when they could’ve just denied the warranty request over the phone the employee gives me a blank stare. I ask if they could help find the model # of the replacement glass or a compatible part. It goes over her head and shows me to my microwave. Talk about a waste of time.
Luckily I’m just out two 20min trips to this service shop but imagine having coming in from, say Langley for no reason whatsoever!

After some sleuthing online and measurements at another retailer which carries a similar model, I managed to find a compatible part through a supplier IT deals with for parts.
Useless!!!

I wish there was another place to take Yamaha repairs, but I.T. electronics has a virtual monopoly and act that way. Rude owner, lies about when the unit will be ready and generally poor customer service are some of the issues. They are also quite reluctant to give you any idea as to when the repair will be complete even though under warranty. Typical of a place that is the only show in town!

Over the years I have had to bring a few of my TVs in to IT electronics.
Each time I received polite, and attentive telephone service. When one person didn’t have an answer for me, they always found someone who did (sometimes involving a callback, but always within 24 hours).
Turn around time on a previous repair service (replacing defective capacitors and related components) took only about a week or so. It was out of warranty, but they still gave me a fair price (I found out a week later that a class action suit against Samsung would have paid for the repair had I turned in the TV 2 weeks earlier; I just missed the window of opportunity; my bad.)
My most recent service (all covered under warranty) of my new LG TV that had faulty 3D functioning, was exceptional. The boss and his head tech came to my home on my schedule, (a Friday evening as I work during the day), for me to demonstrate the issues. They acknowledged the issues and told me they’d order in a new motherboard for the TV, then arrange pickup after it came in.
Exactly a week later they called and arranged for pickup the Following Monday morning (before I leave for work).
The TV was returned to my home by 6:45 that evening, all fixed and working as it should!
Thank you IT Electronics. You have taken great care of me over the years.

Horrible. horrible service. this is the first word comes to mind when I think about this company and their service. They have been assigned to me by some insurance company, the one I took the extended warranty for my television. They picked up my television two times, kept it for over two weeks each time and the worst part is it did not work after their said «repairs». I have video proof after each time they dropped of the TV. When I brought it into their attention, they are so ignorant as to believe me and said that it showed no signs of defect in their store. They did not even bother to look at the videos I had. On top of that, the owner called me unprofessional because I refused to accept the defective TV and asked them to contact the insurance company, because the insurance company was the one who hired them in the first place. I still do not understand how a unsatisfied consumer can be «unprofessional». Now the insurance company has asked some other company to do the repairs. All this dealing with this horrible company has proven one fact that all they care about is their repair fee from the insurance company not the clients. It is been a nightmare to deal with them for over two months.
I warn all the readers to stay away from these so called electricians because they have no clue about the repairs or the customer service.

I’m giving this place 1 star for the following reasons:
— I was referred to this place by Visions to repair a problem with a Sony CDX-​C90 deck i bought off their demo board. They had removed the button that pops the faceplate off, so that you couldn’t steal it out of their showroom, and I needed that fixed. This repair took forever. The problem, however, was that when i picked the deck up there was a large crack through the display, and the aluminum frame was dented on the corner — clearly this had been dropped. IT refused to accept any responsibility, despite Visions’ manager confirming that the the faceplate was mint when HE AND I walked it from the store over to the shop. I ended up in an argument with the owner of the shop, an older German/​Austrian guy. I vowed never to give them my business again.
— Fast forward 4 years and I need a Harmon/​Kardon amp repaired under Visions’ warranty. They only used IT, so I didn’t have a choice but to allow them to send my amp to Burnaby for repairs. SEVEN MONTHS LATER the amp comes back. No amount of begging/​threatening Visions to solve this problem got me (or them) anywhere.
And yet, everywhere you go, this shop is the one getting referrals from Canadian distributors of high end electronics (ie Parasound) and local custom home theater installers. If you own something that needs a repair and you’re referred here — find an alternative, even if it means shipping your gear somewhere else.

To be honest I’m not sure what to give this place. All I can say is that although they’re an authorized repair place for many brands of electronics, the lack of support from the brands directly is quite atrocious.

I was directed here after having repeated problems with my Yamaha receiver. I was 99% sure it was a firmware glitch which I repeated several times on the phone, but instead they insisted on having me bring drive my receiver across town. A few days later, guess what. oh look, it’s a firmware issue, we can’t repair it. What a waste of gas.
The good news is that the staff were friendly, and I did manage to talk directly to the repair guy. He offered to email the Yamaha district manager, but that was about it. Not surprisingly, all correspondence went into some black hole, never to be seen again.
As for my receiver? Well, the original problem is still there. I would give Yamaha 1 star, but that is for a different day.

Just wanted to say I have dealt with people before on various warranty issues for different electronics over the years without a hitch,
I just called today to inquire about repairing a standard electronic and the service dept fellow was quite rude and refused to give me a rough idea what I might expect to pay for a VERY STANDARD repair. I’ve put in a request to speak with either the store or service manager and will post the result of my inquiry here.
