History

Established in 1980.

Hyak Wilderness Adventures started up as a small rafting company in the 80s with only 4 rafts. Warren and Randy, two eager guides, took over the company in 1988, and since then it has grown tremendously. Hyak has run trips on the Church, Tatshenshini, Chilko, Chilcotin, and Fraser rivers. Hyak also used to run ski adventure trips in the winter on mountains such as Sun Peaks and Apex. Today, Hyak owns 55 rafts and runs various trips on the Chilliwack and Thompson Rivers.

Business Owner

Warren Cove started as a raft guide when Hyak first opened in the 1980s before taking over the company with his partner Randy Loor in 1988. Warren and Randy are committed to providing the finest white water rafting in BC. Warren runs and manages the company alongside Randy year round, and has a second job as a contractor during the winter months. Warren currently resides in North Vancouver with his wife and two daughters. Both Randy and Warren constantly strive to offer the best prices and fun in the industry!
