Freddy’s Hair

So when I moved here from Alberta, I looked for the highest rated hairdresser near me. I am very picky about my hair as I have suffered disasters because of its curliness. And the humidity here gave my hair a whole new set of challenging conditions.
I found Freddy’s Hair and never looked back. He has done amazing cuts on my hair, and curly hair is not so easy to manage. He introduced me to products that actually worked on my frizz. He is a great guy, very personable and very good at what he does.
You could also get a superb hair tattoo from Freddy as he is in demand at shows for his work. No matter your age, or kind of hair, he is a terrific and humble hairdresser. And the cost is very reasonable.

I decided to try Freddy’s based on the Unilocal reviews. The salon is not what I expected. It’s kind of a mess; hair mannequin heads and hairstyle books stacked on the floor, no defined waiting room so you feel like you’re hovering in someone’s living room (not in the comfy homey sense).
Freddy takes walk ins, which is great if you’re the walk-​in, but not so great if you have an appointment but someone walked in 5 minutes before your appointment, so you end up waiting while their hair is cut.
Freddy has very strong opinions. I have very dark brown hair and wanted it coloured black with a blue undertone (which I’ve had done many times before). He told me it wasn’t a good idea to go black since my hair was naturally so light. I had an inch of roots showing my natural dark brown, and he argued with me about what my natural colour is. Seriously. Argued with me as though I don’t know what colour my hair is. Then he told me he couldn’t do blue undertones unless I bleached out streaks and coloured them blue. I clarified that I wasn’t looking for blue highlights (which I have done before) but an overall black with blue undertones (you can even buy a drugstore colour called Indigo that is what I was looking for). He responded that he couldn’t do that.
I got my hair cut once (overlayered, didn’t listen to what I wanted). I took my son there a couple more times because it was close to my house. By bizarre coincidence, I was there when Freddy was telling a different client that he couldn’t do black with blue undertones for her. I could see her frustration as she tried to explain that she didn’t want blue highlights.
After having my son left waiting in the chair mid-​cut when another client walked in (we had an appointment) I didn’t return.

Have called three times over the past six months to make an appointment, based only on the high Unilocal ratings. I’ve yet to get a call back, even after leaving detailed, repeated messages.

I will probably be the first person here who didn’t like what Freddy did to my hair. Maybe it was his bad day… I left with good style but my hair was cut uneven on the sides and one side is half inch longer than the other. I haven’t noticed it at the salon because I was really worried about my back, because at first he cut my hair not as I asked him (and showed on the picture) to cut it, and he needed to redo it. All i asked was classic short bob! And other thing was really inappropriate is when he started to cut my hair, other client showed up, and he asked his helper (I guess she was
trainee) to dry my hair for awhile, so when she started to do that, he just begin to cut that mans hair. It took around 20 minutes! I was speechless… So I spent 1 hour 15 minutes in the salon, I think it was just too long for a short haircut. And in the end i needed to cut my hair at home, to make it even, not cool at all… I will not come back!

WAY too pushy! He did everything I asked him NOT to do just because he had a different opinion. I should have walked out the second he started to oppose me. I HATE my new hair and its way too short to be fixed. I cry every time I look in the mirror, it is not at all what I wanted or asked for. I feel like he just did what he wanted to do without taking into account anything I said. I will be wearing a hat for the next 2 months.

I was using the same hairdresser for 10 years and he was always doing the same thing to my hair even when I asked for something new. I got so bored I decided to try someone new.
I was nervous about having someone else work on my hair until I met Freddy. I found his salon here on Unilocal and the reviews were so great I decided to give him a try.
He was AMAZING. I would post an ‘after shot’ for you to see but photos are not an option on this website. He listened to my concerns and gave me fun new streaks, side bangs and kept the back nice and long. I can not tell you how many compliments I have gotten! My roommate is even going to him!
Freddy will help you relax, give you the style you are looking for with competitive pricing. His head massages are TO DIE FOR. ;-)

Glad I went to Unilocal and discovered Freddy’s Hair Salon!
He was the first hair stylist to give me options with my hair and he had a really calm, pleasant and professional demeanour. All around great experience and cut. The price was reasonable for a stylist. I’ll be back many more time, I’m sure!

I have been going to Freddy to get my hair «did» for as long as I can remember and I trust his vision more than I trust my own. Whether you are looking for a basic style or something more funky, Freddy is a master at ensuring you look stunning.
I have referred many people to Freddy, both male and female and everyone has been impressed with his work and his demeanor. It’s always a pleasure sitting down and chatting with him while he takes his time and gives you that perfect look.
Even if Freddy were to go blind, I would probably still trust him to make me look good.
