Dr. Henry Reis, the clinic’s owner, is an experienced, acclaimed corneal surgeon from Brazil, who has been practicing full-​scope Optometry in Canada and offers his patients a distinct approach to their vision and ocular concerns.

The Focus Eyecare Centre Team is committed to a Full Scope Optometric Medical Model, bringing a medical perspective to the traditional optometric exam.

History

Established in 2005.

Founded by Dr. Susan Seibold in 2005, Focus Eyecare Centre was initially named Eyecare at the Mulberry. The clinic has been proudly serving families from Burnaby, New Westminster, Coquitlam and Vancouver. In 2014, with a new name and new logo, our clinic expanded its services with state-​of-​the-​art equipment and incomparable doctor expertise.

Meet the Business Owner

Business Owner

Dr. Henry Reis is from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; where he graduated from the University of Brazil (UFRJ), with a summa cum laude Ophthalmology degree. During his extensive training, he developed a special interest in cornea, cataract, glaucoma and laser surgery, and was actively involved in research, having published several papers and participated in studies such as the Lucentis International Trial. He has also participated as a speaker in various symposiums in Canada.

In addition to his academic pursuits, Dr. Reis cofounded a non-​profit organization that provided exams to an underprivileged community in Rio de Janeiro, and offered free consultations and surgeries in their private practice during special campaigns.

Dr Reis feels very grateful to live in our beautiful city, and he is committed to providing an outstanding level of care to his patients. In his spare time, he enjoys soccer, tennis, cycling, running, and scuba diving — and he is fluent in English, Portuguese and Spanish.
