Prefer the«hamburger» than the pork cutlets, but both are still good. I always go for the combo, so i can get both the cutlet and the burger patty. Good portion, good price, good service. Ordered the poutine this time to try. Size was massive, but didnt’ quite hit the spot. I should order some friend chicken next time. SIZEWASEVENMOREMASSIVE. Looked delicious. Probably some awesome to-go option :) I always leave this place full and happy :)

The Daeji is a restaurant chain and is very popular. Go there once and you will see why. The food is really delicious and there are so many different types of sauces for the pork cutlets — you will be too busy drooling to be able to pick one. It’s inexpensive and the portions are way to big. No wonder it’s famous…

Very good value This is my second time at this little restaurant. The quality of the food has been consistent. Portions are quite generous and if you are a fan of cutlets, this is the place for you. For under $ 10, you get 2 pieces of cutlets of your choice, rice, salad, and random side(i got corn, but I think this changes based on the season). If you live in the area you must try it!

Wait, I haven’t written a review on this place yet? Woops. Let’s get to it. People are mentioning that the portion has gone smaller… but I just don’t see it. How big was it before? I still can’t finish it. I always end up with one whole cutlet for the next day… I like the Cheese Dontaksu. Nice and cheesy… with delicious gravy all over it… mmm yess… The spicy one is good too, if you want to be a daredevil. ;)

Came here while visiting friends in the North road area. The restaurant is bright and open and we were seated quite promptly. We came a bit early for dinner so it was pretty empty at first but more people started to trickle in afterwards. I ordered the cheese pork cutlet combo, which came with the two cutlets, rice, salad, and some corn. Honestly I found the taste average and the portions to be small. Definitely wasn’t filling enough for me despite it being a combo. My friend talked to the waiter since her cutlet appeared to be undercooked after cutting into it. The waiter brought the dish to the chef and came back explaining that that part of the meat is supposed to be like that, though we were still a bit questionable. Putting that concern aside, overall I still found the experience a bit mediocre. Probably will opt for other Korean style restaurants in the future if I am in the area.

The pork chop is good here. I have to say my eye is bigger my stomach. The portion looks small but its actually quite big. I had a hard time finishing it. As a hint don’t eat most of the rice they give you. I failed because of that. I went here at night and the place is not exordinary busy. Its good that they open till midnight. I highly recommend the place. As well they only serve pork chop and patty burger.

We fully-enjoyed our previous dining experience at Dae Ji, so during a recent stay in the area, decided to return — this time for dinner. As during our previous visit, service was friendly and accommodating. We ordered two different cutlet meals — the pork cutlet w/gravy, and the fish cutlet w/tarter sauce — and wanted to share the two. The server had the cook put one piece of each, on the two plates — so we were able to share the two kinds of cutlets, without having to move the pieces about ourselves. So we got a taste of each brought to our table, along with the condiments, etc., to match each. We appreciated that accommodation. But how was the food this time? Ouch! It was definitely not as we remember when we dined there last. The meat/fish in the cutlets was thin, and the coatings rather thick and greasy — the very opposite of the preparations we were served there last time. Might it have had something to do with the time we dined? We did lunch last time, and were there when the place first opened — the cutlets were plump, and so well-prepared. We did a very early dinner this time — did we get re-heated cutlets from lunch? From their taste and texture, I sure suspect they could have been. Unlike our last dining there, we did not have leftovers we wished to take back to the hotel for a snack later. Dae Ji’s was a big disappointment this time. The service was good … but not the food.

I actually went to the location in Coquitlam. The Sweet & Sour Sauce Fried Chicken was good as well. The chicken wasn’t as crispy as I would’ve liked it to be but the sauce made it yummy. Last but not least, we ordered a plate of Regular Fried Chicken. I wasn’t a big fan of this one since it was dry and I prefer the ones with sauce. We didn’t end up finishing this dish either. I would pass on it next time. Overall, we had a solid experience here and we stayed for a really long time just chatting. The service was good too. Next time, I’ll try their cutlets.

The cutlets were good. A Korean friend told us to «keep it simple» so we did. We had the spicy pork & cheese and the chicken. Huge portions so definitely worth the $ 10! It’s almost something we could make at home, but can’t complain with the price point.

Been here twice now and discovered it on a whim. First time had the spicy cheese cutlet & kimchi fried rice which was really good! Would definitely recommend getting one order of the cutlet(two pieces) and the kimchi fried rice. Recently ordered just the kimchi pork cutlet and was good as well. Can’t go wrong as the cutlets are fried and they’re super crispy. Also provide a good portion of rice, small mac salad, and a small bunch of refreshing shredded cabbage with dressing. Definitely recommended! Not sure what their hours are(i’ll snap a pic next time) but they did close at 11:30pm when I went on a Tuesday night. Lots of parking in the shared plaza as well. Service was pretty regular. The server wasn’t very attentive and had to call him over whenever we needed something. Overall food is pretty good and I’d return.

I first tried Daeji Pork Cutlet House at their downtown location about three years ago. Since then, prices have gone up a bit, portions have gotten a wee bit smaller, but the food is still good and filling. I ordered the pork cutlet with gravy sauce, salad, corn, and rice. It was delicious but I would have preferred having a little less gravy on the pork. The pork cutlet itself was nice and crispy and not greasy. After we had ordered, we were given a large bottle of water and two cups. I liked that we were given water without having to ask. However, once we got our food, we were pretty much ignored. After trying and failing to get a server’s attention to get our bill, we ended up going to the front to pay. Maybe this is the way it’s done here? I really like the food here, but the service could use a little work.

Pork Cutlet, is one of my favourite comfort foods. Crispy on the outside, tender on the inside! Top it off with sauce, add rice on the side and some veggies, and you’ve got a world beater. In case you didn’t know, Daeji means, pig in Korean. And true to their name, they serve up a wide variety of pork dishes, well, in cutlet form. They also have dishes like Chicken cutlet, fried chicken, fried rice, burger cutlets and so on. While this wasn’t the best pork cutlet I’ve ever had(that honour goes to Saboten in Seoul, Korea). That being said, this place was solid. The dishes my brother and I tried: Cheese Pork Cutlet Kimchi Fried Rice Fried Chicken Cheese Pork Cutlet: This dish comes with two cutlets, and is good for sharing. It comes topped off with melted cheese and gravy on top, along with plain rice and a shredded cabbage salad that you would find in most Korean restaurants. Think of it like coleslaw(not like KFC) without the mush. There’s plenty to like here, the cutlet is crisp and cooked just right. The pork was good. Not too thick, not too thin. Kimchi Fried Rice: It was ok, I think I can do better at home though, but that might not be the case with other people. You do get large portions, and it is topped of with a fried egg as well. This makes a nice supplement to the plain white rice that comes with the cutlet in case you want to forego that option. In my opinion, if you split the cutlet and the rice, that’s a ton of food for not a lot of money. Fried Chicken: Ahh, Koreans and fried chicken. It’s almost the national dish, well, fried chicken and beer that is. Anyhow, we ordered the fried chicken on a whim because, A.)we love fried chicken B.) we were curious how they would serve it up C.) we just had to compare it to other places that served FC. Ordered it bone out, and it was interesting. Tastes how KFC popcorn chicken would taste if it was actually good. That being said, you can tell it was not their specialty. Don’t get me wrong, it was good, but there are better places to have fried chicken, especially given the locale of North Road. The way I see it is, they had to have fried chicken because of how popular it is. Think of it like this, back in the day, X-FM and the Fox used to play Eminiem despite being alternative/rock stations. Just too popular to pass up. Overall, the service was good and quick. They take debit/credit. I think with the three items it worked out to about $ 20.00 with tip for each person. It would have been a lot cheaper without the chicken, but I can’t say I’m sorry I tried it. The only reason this place gets a 3⁄5 is because has yet compared to the pork cutlet that I’ve expereince in Korea.

Quick, cheap, filling, AND delicious? I’m in! Ambience is okay, nothing fancy. Lots of orange everywhere. My favourite here is the Mushroom Hamburg Steak. It comes with a serving of rice, coleslaw, picked radishes, and some corn. So yums. Service doesn’t really exist here but it’s not that kind of restaurant, and you don’t go in expecting that. Might be a little hard to find, it’s on the top level of the blue plaza that’s on the corner of Northroad and Lougheed Highway. Lots of parking space available. Awesome for when you’re in the area and want something affordable with no frills.

Type: Late Snack Daeji is a great place to visit when you’re hngry around the Lougheed area. As many of you know, This neighborhood is a very Korean part of town, so there are plenty of places to get your Kimchi fix; however, if you want something different and for great value, check this out. Since they have opened, I have been a returning customer every time I’m around the area, and from time to time I would specifically make a trek out there. The favored dishes at Daeji is obviously their Pork Cutlet, but don’t be fooled, because their hamburger patties, and curry is also great dishes. Most great places isn’t always defined by the quality of the food and the atmosphere, sometimes it is about passion. The chef here absolutely loves what he does and always cooks with a smile on his face. Come give this place a chance.

As the name implies, their specialty is pork cutlet and they do it well. For around $ 10, you can get the pork cutlet meals(like pork schneitzel or tonkatsu), deep fried breaded pork), that typically comes with 2 pork cutlets, korean-style salad with a small serving of macaroni, pickles and steamed rice. There are quite a bit of choices for cutlet flavours, typically one or combination of gravy/kimchee/cheese/spicy/curry. if you dont feel like having pork, there are fish and chicken meal options as well. Make sure you are hungry when you come here because those pork cutlets are pretty substantial. They have pretty good service — we get our orders within 15 mins typically(during lunchtime). Overall this place has a number of tasty options for reasonable prices making this place one of our favorite work lunch venues. Were here typically once a week,

I like trying new places so dropped by on a Wednesday night. This seems to be an Asian specialty restaurant kind of like a slightly upscale Wendy’s. I tried the No 1 item on the menu which is the Pork Cutlet dish that includes 2 pcs of breaded pork cutlet, gravy, rice, a bit of macaroni with corn and a small salad with a thousand island type of dressing. The pork cutlets were similar to weinerschnitzel you would get in a German spot. The plate at $ 7.99 with free asian tea was tasty and worth the money. I am attaching a photo for folks to judge for themselves. This is not a gourmet experience but for the quick munch I was looking for it was a good experience. Wait service was excellence with smiles and helpfulness offered.
