Confederation Park

It is one of those parks that you will ever need if you want to a good cardio workout. There is a nice running/​walking track for those who need to do their early morning cardio before they go on with their day. There will be dogs around as they need their exercise as well.
There is a playground for the children and it is an average sized playground to be honest. However, the children enjoy the playground and also the spray pool that is open during the summer time.
I also recommend going there during the summer during sunset because the scenery can get amazing. You will see what I mean.

Great park, they have it all: running track, picnic tables, play area for kids. Actually, the play area is a bit of a highlight: you can tell there was a lot of thought put into it, there are from monkey bars and swings to a complex (miniature size) water canals with sluice gates, very impressive and a fun educational piece for the kids.
If you’re in the area, it’s worth checking it out!

One of my favorite parks to bring my daughter. On a Saturday morning it gets quite busy, but not extremely packed. There’s people playing softball on the fields on one side, kids playground on the other and a community center past all the outdoor activities.
The kids playground is where we spend the majority of the time. There’s a smaller area for younger kids, while the rest is for kids of all ages. It’s clean and the ground is that bouncy-​ish (not exactly sure how to describe it) material that is easy to walk on.

I come here to use the running track which is decent. Their field size is decent as well. Best to go during the week rather than weekend morning as I have seen this fill up fast.

So far, this is my favourite destination for a short dog hike. I decided to drop by Confederation Park after looking up the closest off-​leash dog parks in my area and I certainly lucked out. We’ve been going about twice a week for 4 months now and my 9 month old Dobby absolutely loves the hiking trails and beaches. There are many options to allow you to vary the route but all are well cleared and maintained and some of the views are tremendously beautiful.
People are friendly and most animals are extremely well behaved and most people actually take the time to clean up after their pets (much more so than at the NS Auto Mall park).
The off-​leash enclosures are great as well, especially after hiking the trails. There is one for smaller dogs only and a larger one for all dogs to play in which has bushes and trees to explore, although most dogs seem to just love running headlong down the open field area.
Someone put some thought into the design of the fencing as well, with each entrance consisting of two gates, giving you the chance to calm your pet before letting them run and make sure that there are no wild escapes from dogs in the park already. There are benches and a water fountain with both human and canine drinking areas for when they get thirsty and lots of parking along the road if the main lots are full.
Overall, a pretty awesome park, at least the dog side certainly is.

This is a pretty nice dog park off of Willingdon. I stopped by on a Friday afternoon, and there were only a few dogs there. The main, fenced-​in area is pretty large, with lots of grass and a water faucet to keep your dog hydrated. They also have another fenced-​in area for smaller dogs. Finally, there is plenty of parking right next to the dog park (enter Conferation Park from the south or the east). Only thing missing would be a view of the water.

What a perfect little hike! I came here this afternoon with a friend to walk her dogs. It was a car ride away from our East Van digs but totally worth it! It was raining MEGA hard (from 5 minutes into our hike until 2 minutes after we got back into the car OF COURSE) but the trees are so tall and thick that coverage was pretty good! This place has tons of some of my fave scenery, which is big old tree stumps covered with new branches that are all twisty and covered in moss, and despite how crappy hiking in the rain is, it did add to how pretty everything looked! We did a short round around one of the trails which took about 20 minutes, but there were more paths that went in different directions that i’d like to come back and explore when it isn’t monsoon season. The view in the northern part of the trail is also beautiful! You can totally see out across the water.
I totally recommend this place to people with dogs! My friend’s two dogs were STOKED to get to run around a park, but it was perfect since it’s a totally reasonable distance to drive and the hike itself isn’t a huge time commitment. The whole thing took just a little over an hour out of my day! Alternatively, you could totally make a whole day out of this area. The Eileen Dailly Leisure Pool is right nearby, so you could go for a walk during the afternoon and hit up the pool later when it starts to get dark! That is totally on my to do list!
