Don’t understand why this place is so popular as it is just a typical Asian bubble tea/food place with terrible service and mediocre food.

Firstly, the service here is horrendous. We didn’t get our menus for 10 minutes after being sat down, and after receiving the menu, it took them another 15 minutes to come back to ask for our orders…(So we had to wave one of the servers thrice to get some service). Anyways, the server we had was extremely rude and abrupt when we asked questions about their food. This place was mainly HK and Taiwanese influenced, which me and my friends don’t know much about. Hence, that’s why we asked a couple of questions about their meals, however, this seemed like it was a little too much for this server. I guess her grunting and shrugging her shoulders are how these servers normally interact with people.(& Yes, I also saw that my waitress was decked out in Tiffany & co and Cartier jewelry, and she doesn’t like this job, but she’s getting paid to serve, not snap at the customers). Lastly, we found hair in our food… Which our server begrudgingly took away. We weren’t sure if she was going to make my husband eat around the hair. Also, there were 3 people in our party, and they only gave us one set of utensils to use… I guess we had to take turns eating their hairy food. Ugh. Just plain Terrible!!! I may Euro-Asian and I can’t speak a drop of Mandarin, but there is no need to be rude to paying customers. So disappointing. The other cattle café near New Westminster is so much better. Also, they didn’t give back our change. I wasn’t going to tip after the poor service, and hair in our food. But they technically stole 10% worth of a tip for a job poorly done.

been here 2 – 3 times, both food and service were terrible, and found hair in our food. I often had to stand at the counter and wait for 5 – 10 min before a waiter came to seat us down. I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone or ever go back again.

Called in advance(day before around noon) to make dinner reservations and was told they didn’t take reservations. So we show up and there’s a lineup. When we get to the front we gave our name and were told it would be about 15 – 20 mins. 20 mins later we’re still waiting but during that time people had been coming in and were seated right away because apparent they had reservations. Huh??? When we asked the host why we were told the day before why couldn’t make reservations his answer was so vague and totally didn’t make sense. After 45 mins of still waiting(and the lineup had grown by this time too) we got frustrated and left.

Nosh and Nibble came here for an early dinner and I had the following: Curry Beef Brisket(Mini Cattle Meal)($ 8.59) Lemon Iced Tea(+$ 1 with a mini cattle meal) The Curry Beef Brisket was a bowl’s worth of rice with a splash of curry, 6 beef brisket pieces, and some potato. This was an astounding sight. I’d seen this size of plate used for regular dinner hours during my last visit, but it was a little strange to see such a paltry amount of savoury food on such a large plate. I’m sure the regular-sized dinner option is much larger for only a couple more dollars. This led me to think that these mini cattle meals are meant to be bigger snacks when you have the munchies between meals. After my initial withdrawal, my stomach agreed with the portion, but I came dangerously close to running low on curry compared to rice. The rice portion appeared to be the same as a dinner portion, but the curry sauce was subsidized which threw the balance off a bit. The Lemon Iced Tea was the same size that comes with almost all Cattle Café meal options. It had a good amount of lemon, sugar, and crushed ice on top to keep things cool.

Here I am at Cattle Café where I am meeting with some of my family members for lunch. The wait took about 30 minutes because it is the weekend and everyone is enjoying their food and the conversations at this place. Thankfully, it was a mix of sun and cloud day so I was not that worried with the weatherm Inside the restaurant, they were loaded with staff members so there was not going to be that much stress for them which is good for the customers. I ordered the beef with rice noodles since I already had a quick breakfast to begin with. 20 minutes later… I am still wondering where my food is… :’(. Probably it could be the cooks been busy they forgot to talk to about my dish. It finally came but the question is. where are my chopsticks .-. Here is the verdict of this meal. The beef was tender and the rice noodles were fresh. I could tell the wok power in the restaurant was pretty efficient today since everyone is talking about the good the food was. However, if you saw my picture of my beef pieces… It was small :(.(I know meat is expensive, but at least the quality is there to make up for the price.) For $ 10, it seems somewhat fair, but I wish there was a little bit more meat… Service could improve… but I would come back.

It is what it is. Typical asian bubble tea and food Café. The service sucked pretty bad. We were given a table, order taken and then we had to waive someone to come over when we needed our food boxed up. I’m desensitized over the service but if you’re the type who needs to be asked how the food taste etc, you will not be getting it from here. I got the Malay Laksa with beef slices, fish tofu and flat noodles. Overall a thumbs up from me! I usually get the deep fried buns as well. Pretty basic dish. Can’t mess that one up! I also got cold milk tea on the side. Location is pretty convenient. Across from Metrotown. Underground parking is also available. Would I come back? YAAASSSS

Pretty bad costumer service. Our waiter did not greet us with any hospitality but instead with utter contempt. When we ordered our bubble waffle, we had repeatedly requested for it 4 times before they brought it. Don’t recommend it.

Nosh and Nibble came here for lunch and I had the following: Pork Cutlet Curry on Rice($ 10) Lemon Iced Tea($ 1 with Curry) Cattle French Toast($ 6) The Pork Cutlet Curry on Rice came with a side of vegetables and a very healthy amount of curry. There was a ton of rice too so this dish can definitely fill most people up. The chicken was very tasty in the first few bites thanks to the crunchy exterior. Over time the crispy skin began sogging up because of the drenching curry. I don’t think this was too much of a problem, but as the picture shows crisp cutlets I thought it important to mention. The Lemon Iced Tea comes at a discounted price of $ 1 if you order a meal and I fully took advantage. This had a good sweet and sourness to it. Remember to take the spoon and mash in as much lemon juice as you can before sipping. The Cattle French Toast was 6 pieces of fried bread served with ice cream and syrup. I think the best way to eat this was to layer some ice cream and drizzle some syrup on top of an individual piece before stabbing the entire thing and chowing down. The toast pieces were good and had a crispy satisfaction as one chomped down into a doughy interior. Overall I thought this was a cool spin on classic French toast.

Terrible service and uncooked food. I asked to see where is my certain food that I ordered when I saw this waitress walk towards me. before I get a chance to ask, she just put up her hand like she’s telling me to shut up n face palm me. Don’t ever go to this place. This is horrible and I will not recommend anyone to go

Not recommended if you have a peanut allergy. We were told by the server that they only use peanut oil in the kitchen.

One of my go-to restaurants in Burnaby. The fish broth in the custom noodle soup is really good! As well as the deep-fried chicken wings side dish. The other dishes are mostly good, but nothing special. Ambience is typical for a HK café. Big, inexpensive portions, with lots of variety. They also have another location in Edmonds, which is pretty consistent with this location.

Before the Vancouver Kingsway and Richmond location closed down, I used to come quite a bit but it was mostly out of convenience and a yearning for some fish fillet in noodles. I almost always get the tomato pumpkin fish soup with beef tendon and fish fillet with rice noodles. Its a huge bowl that i ALWAYS have leftovers with and comes with a drink as well. For only around $ 12, this is a filling meal!

Their custom noodle soup is the best deal ever. I’ve tried the spicy one and the malay noodle soup, they both tasted sooooo good. Forgot to mention it’s super fast, cheap and big portion. Such a good deal. They open late night too, when everywhere else is closed, you don’t have to go to McDonald anymore, cuz you can get so much better food here at prob the same price you’ll spend at McDonald for a meal. Highly recommended. For people who are complaining the service and gave 1 star just because of that, this is just a quick cheap eating spot, go to cactus if you want good service. You can’t get everything you want.

I have only visited this place twice. For a Hong Kong style diner, I find it quite nice. It’s much better than the old location along Kingsway in Vancouver. This location is much larger and cleaner. The waitresses are also more attentive and the open area allows them to see all the customers when they need something. The Laksa fish noodles and spicy vinegar dumplings are very flavorful, although the portions are moderate in size. Pan fried dishes are also great, as are their baked seafood. Depending on the flavor of bubble tea or slush, they can be a little bland, so I wouldn’t recommend this place for that.

I would give a zero if I could. The bowl was empty with only broth. Please do not come here with your friends. It is embarrassing.

Cattle café is one of my favourite quick, cheap and late-night eats. I usually get the combo with Malay Laksa + rice noodles + baby cuttlefish + fish puff + side of fried chicken wings + bbt. The portions used to be a lot bigger — you got more pieces of cuttlefish/puffs but they’ve reduced it. Went to their new location yesterday and didn’t see the usual staff from their old location. Not sure if they’re still there or not but the new staff give much worse service. Our male server got our order wrong and accused us of not verifying it with him — the table next to ours also said he got their order wrong and tried to sass them about it too. When we asked for our bill — which was split in two — we were also not given any change for one bill and shortchanged for the other. It wasn’t much(aprox 50c) but just leaves a bad taste in our mouth — we should decide how much we want to tip(or not) depending on how decent the service is. I don’t expect stellar service considering the type of restaurant this is and I get that mistakes happen but these were just a series of bad experiences in one visit. Will go back anyway because I still really enjoy their food and price is not bad but definitely disappointed in the general decline of service and portion sizes.

I loved the old one before they moved. I’m a regular frequenter, to the point I had their VIP card. But the portions got smaller, and the service became even worse. I suppose I don’t go there for service. Anyway, the Custom Noodle Soup is where it’s at, as well as the satay beef bun. It’s really quite inexpensive, and the portions are still more than enough in most cases. I’ll be back, I’m sure, but they were exceptionally rude to me, when they got my order wrong and I simply asked for reasonable things like napkins or the bill. Their location near the Safeway on Kingsway was best, but it’s gone now :(

We came here tonight at 7 pm. Luckily, we didnt’ have to wait for a table. The menu is the same. But now they have black dishware to go with their white-topped tables. The seating is hard so don’t plop down on it. Wave down the staff if you want your bill.

They don’t answer calls most of the time, and the workers there never have smiles. If you care about customer service, don’t go there.
