History

Established in 1989.

Better Lock Group Ltd. was started by two brothers, Andrew and John, in the 1980s and was actually named Mckay Lock and Key. Some of our customers still remember us as Mckay Lock. They worked out of a retail unit on Kingsway and Mckay in Burnaby.

Better Lock Group Ltd. was formed after Mckay Lock purchased several smaller locksmiths and moved to a bigger location at the 5000 Kingsway Plaza. This relocation allowed them to serve more customers and have a bigger working area as business continued to grow.

For the last 25 Years, Andrew and John helped many residents and business owners secure their homes and business. Both and Andrew and John retired at the end of 2014 and they passed the business on to one of their employees, Justin.

Justin was trained by Andrew and John and has worked with them for many years. Now, he continues the business that Andrew and John started in the 1980s.

Justin purchased the business from Andrew and John who were the original owners who began Better Lock Group Ltd. He has been working and training with them for many years. He brings a new outlook to security hardware and has an extensive client base who will only trust him with their security needs.
