I just got back from the Bell Store in Brentwood Mall. They’ve been dealing with me for 3 days after I managed to screw up my iphone 3gs. One of the CSRs there tried to help me restore it and everything but it turned out that my Apple blacklisted my phone. yay me… so I had to buy a new one, and decided to get it off of Craigslist(cheaper than paying full price at the store) and the guy at Bell(Edward) helped me make sure it was legit before I paid the craigslist guy my hard-earned money for it and he even gave me a new sim card(the sim cards for iphone 3gs and iphone 4s are different) for free. I definitely felt a little better that he was so nice and helpful about it since I feel like I got myself into the stupid situation. On another note, I’ve been with Bell since 2005 I think and I never had any major problems with the company. The Brentwood location has always been my main store to go to and everyone I’ve dealt with there has been pretty helpful to me. But this experience today definitely takes the cake.

I know this is an old review, but I wanted to wait until I started getting my first couple phone bills to make sure this wasn’t too good to be true. However, since everything worked out exactly as was promised to me by the employee I dealt with, I decided I should probably write a review letting other people know there are people working on commission in retail that are motivated to give good customer service and have your best interests at heart. I walked in to this store at the BF’s request, even though I was still super pissed with Bell for fooling me before Xmas about getting an iphone4. I decided to double check this location and see if they had any in stock. I dealt with Shafik, who had an idea to fool the corporate company’s plan to only give new iphones to new customers and jack their old customers by not letting them buy the hot new phone. Basically, what he proposed was that we downgrade my current phone to a basic monthly $ 20 plan, and then set me up on a student plan for the iphone4 as a new customer. My concern was that I wanted to keep my old phone number, and was worried about how much this would cost me monthly, since I would have two phone bills as opposed to one. Shafik showed me the student plan, which was relatively cheap, and with the amount I was already paying monthly, paying for the student plan plus the $ 20 basic plan for my other phone would end up costing almost the same. I was a little apprehensive after all I had been through in the last two weeks with Bell, but decided to give it a try anyways. Shafik was able to set up this plan for me and then switch the phone numbers on the phones so my old number would be on my new iphone4, and the«new customer» number would be on my old phone(which I haven’t touched since.) This plan worked for both of us, he got the sale, and I got my iphone4 for Xmas. My only reason for not giving him the whole five stars(cuz believe me, he deserves it) is because I still think Bell really fucked up with this promotion. I was about a phone call away from ending my contract permanently and going with Telus(since I have a family member working with Telus and I could have gotten the iphone4 for cheaper.) I really think these big corporate giants need to stop treating us like shit as loyal customers and start recognizing that we are the ones keeping them in business. Thank you Shakif, I hope you had a wonderful holiday.
