What I liked about this A & W here is that they have 2 options of paying. One of them is the usual walk to the counter and order the food. Another method they have for those who are introverts is they have a machine which allows you to order the food and you basically pay with either your debit or credit card. I decided to go to the customer service because there was clearly no one in there eating. I just wanted a teen burger with mozza. It took a few minutes for the burger to be made. It tasted good, but because it is a fast food place, the quality of it did not shock me at all. I would definitely come here if I was in a rush, but otherwises… there are better places out there then A & W.

Came here for some food. The location used to be a KFC, so it’s rather amusing to look at the barn-shaped building. Parking is available in the lot beside the building, as well as on the side streets. The interior of this location is tiny. I don’t think there were more than 15 seats. It almost seems if the dining area was an afterthought. There is even a back room where one can sit in bar-type seating and stare at a wall. Rather strange. With that said, there is a nice patio area with another 12 or so seats. Too bad the space is basically unusable outside of the summer months. While the food is quite tasty and their root beers deliver, I could swear that the burgers are smaller than the days of yesteryear. Add to it the expensive pricing($ 10 for a combo? Really?), and I really have a hard time justifying coming here when there are plenty of other good restaurants a few minutes away. Hence the 3 stars instead of 4.

Well, once again this location has blown its chances with me! I went through the drive thru and asked specifically for my ring to be fresh and extra mayo on my teen burger, is that asking too much? I don’t think so, this place has a nasty reputation in the heights as being one of the worst A & Ws in the GVRD! I don’t know what it is with the employees and why they have to do such stupid things like put half a cup of mayo on my burger? It seems like an act of vindictiveness when you ask for anything extra at this location! Avoid this location as they act like a bunch of children are working there! Please note: I have given this location MANY chances!

I really enjoy the breakfast items here. Something about how the food is made seems like better quality than its fast food rivals. Staff is friendly and courteous. They bring the food to your table and keep the place very clean. If you do not like breakfast, I just found out they serve their burger menu in the mornings too!

this place replaced KFC. Finally tried it. Pretty cool and high tech location. The staff were super nice. The Buddy Burgers and Chubby chicken were as good as can be expected. Some customers on wifi.(Shawopen) and chilling out. I will be back. This place has a self order kiosk, never seen that before, cool!

I came during $ 2 root beer float! Yum! It’s nice to have an A&W in the neighborhood after KFC left. This A&W for some reason tastes a little bit better than the all the other A&W’s and unlike downtown A&W’s, when you order a root beer float to drink in the restaurant, you actually get the huge frosted Mug instead of the plastic to go cup. The onion rings are cooked to perfection(unlike the other A&W on Hastings St.-which every time has the batter falling off exposing the onion) and the burgers are done to the true A&W standards. This A&W also has the self ordering menu. Like the previous KFC, space inside is somewhat limited, but there is definitely more dining area than before they renovated. Also, they have nice patio tables and chairs which are great to sit in on a sunny day.

They have a patio with umbrellas, indoor air condition tables, a cool SELFORDER computer inside and a drive thru. So even in this tiny location they are working at given clients options just like the way old days of drive in when they brought food to your car window. Sweet!
