This is like eating fast food with the lights dim to create a mood. Its the classic gordon food services, get everything pre-made in a factory than warm it up and put some sauce on it to make it your own. Its tasteless at best. Anyone looking to go here please look up the kind of quality that comes from gordon food services and that will explain it to you, simple google gordon food services mercy for animals. Its actually sickening to see what we eat while we eat at these kind of places. It has a good patio with a good vibe so if your really desperate for only drinks this place works fine but you have far better places like tin cup, fionn mccools right around the corner. Just my opinion but id would never eat here again or at least untill they get the food from a ethical company

My fiancé and I were really excited when we learned a TJ’s was being built right across the street from us. That excitement quickly vanished after our first visit. The service was terrible and it was just an overpriced bland version of Local Eatery(their sister company). The food is always lacking something that I can’t quite put my finger on. Like I mentioned before, we live right across the street from this place and have only gone a handful of times since they’ve opened. Overpriced and lack luster(often rude) service. We want this place to work out, they’ve got a lovely patio. But until they break out of the mould and offer a different menu selection(maybe daily specials so they can feature local produce and try out new recipes?) this place will be far from our top pick of places to go in the area.

Now that this commercial mall is pretty much built up now this place is really much harder to get parking since there is a popeye’s, pita place, menche and other businesses there now. The food is presented as more upscale(holder for fries, long narrow plates) while the interior décor is upscale to match than what it used to be when they were on Fairview years ago. The staff reminds me of being in a place like Earl’s or something along those lines(western Earl’s that is). The food is decent but the portions are more in line of being an upscale place in that they aren’t as big as they could be. Still the quality is fine. It’s a much more fancier type place than before when it used to be more divey. Honestly the old TJ used to look like a bayou and this place looks like Manhattan… The service is ok. The girls are pretty what can I say…

+ Nice décor, not bad food — Long waits for a table, too many hostesses standing around doing nothing We go here on a Saturday night and boy was it busy. They gave us a pager and we waited by the fireplace to warm us up. The décor here is really nice and open. Brick, wood, and tall ceilings. After waiting 30 minutes we were the only ones standing and we had to wait for quite awhile. I went up to one of the many young female hostesses(why so many?) and asked about our table. After many perplexed looks, they found us a table. Boy that was painful. Our waitress was really friendly pointing out the different popular dishes as well as what what low in fat. We ordered the Cajun chicken and fish along with onion soup. The onion soup was very strong, not a fan. The fish was cooked well but the Cajun chicken was far too salty. Overall I feel the place is not too bad and would go back based on the décor.

Food is great but service is the worst! Took almost 30 minutes to get a drink at the bar and had to ask three times to get a glass of water.

Nice decore, good food, some big screens by the bars, but service was pretty poor. 1 beer and dinner and it took about ½ hour to flag waitress down for 2nd beer… she wouldn’t have come back if we didn’t wave frantically at her. I noticed a number of waitresses walking around seemingly avoiding work the whole time we were there… no tips in that girls. Could be a really good place but manager needs to get staff more focussed on service!

A nice dining experience. Chilled ambiance to the place. And one where the family can come too! Our server Aleya was super accommodating with our 1 year old. A nice touch, and, worth mentioning. Food is better than your average chain restaurant. NY butter wing sauce — YUM! Healthy options too, for those who don’t want fried. Our little guy isn’t old enough for the kid’s menu, but, there is one(they are prepped for kids — the juice we got for him was in a plastic cup with a lid and straw). Well done TJs on looking at the entire picture. We will definitely be back.

Ever been to bar/resto/pub/lounge with attractive young servers sporting all black formal getups dispensing menus filled with mentions of fish tacos, artisan sandwiches, daily drink specials and sweet potato fry options? Well then you’ve been here. That makes it a boring, albeit safe place to bring someone you’re trying very hard to impress and who you’re very afraid of offending. What makes it annoying is that the menu,(lifted from every other bar/resto/pub/lounge EVER) isn’t very well executed. My mojito was not a mojito, but a rum and sugar water served in a pint glass with a large straw as garnish. My fish taco was cooked and I ate it, but I’m not sure if I enjoyed it. Oh, and the shitty top 40s they pump out over the bass-heavy sound system was just a smidgen too loud. By all means, come eat here. Bring the date, the boyfriend, the wife, the family, and throw down the average 30 – 45 bucks per person. However, as the food fills you up, you’ll still be left with a nagging emptiness inside. That would be your soul, starving.

Love Turtle Jack’s! We went for the first time tonight and were very happy with the entire experience. Food quality was excellent and the service was great(our server was very attentive). There is a great selection of dishes on the menu and the atmosphere is casual, but looks upscale. The lounge looked very inviting, but we were with our little one, so ate in the dining room. We had the turkey and goat cheese sandwich on naan bread with a side of french onion soup, the chicken and rib combo with sweet potato fries and chicken fingers and fries. The sandwich was very flavourful and filling. The turkey breast was freshly sliced. The sauces on the wings and ribs were both exceptional. The chipotle mayo with the fries was some of the best we have tasted. Children’s menu is great and kids get to choose a toy from the treasure chest upon leaving. They also get crayons and a colouring placemat upon arrival. We will definitely be back to this location again. They also offer take out and have a loyalty program to reward frequent visitors.

This looked like an upscale Turtle Jack’s. It was nice. The kids loved it. We had a great lunch with an impressive menu. My wife is a vegetarian – who eats fish – a pescatarian. She had the Basa fish taco which she enjoyed. There were a lot of options for her which isn’t always the case in a pub style restaurant. You can substitute a veggie pattie for any of the six burger selections too which is cool.
