Stillwaters

Went to Paris Ontario for a day trip happen to stop to have lunch at Stillwater. We were seated on roof top the waitress took our order and brought us our drinks after about 10 minutes the waitress told us that our lunch would be delayed by half an hour then she went on to say that it could be an hour before they could even start making our order because a big party had come in and they had to take their order first. Having owned and operated my own business I can’t believe that they would let us wait an hour for three burgers and fries. Poor management decisions and poor customer service we ended up leaving small town small town service :(

The food is amazing! If you can get a seat on the rooftop patio you’ll have a lovely view of the grand river. The staff is very accommodating and friendly. Have gone twice in the last few weeks and haven’t been disappointed yet!

I have been to this restaurant many times because of the view and the beer. The food is ok, but not great. I always try something different and have yet to be impressed. View and beer is worth 4 stars— in that way, it’s really cool.

Very cool little spot along the water. Food was fairly good and service wasn’t bad. Although, they managed to slightly mess up a pizza order. Still a decent dining experience.

Just returned from a birthday dinner for 7 on a Thursday evening. The restaurant didn’t appear that busy and yet we waited 40 minutes for them to take our order! We did receive drinks before. I ordered the soup of the day, a steak and mushroom, it was quite tasty. The meal was downhill from there! We continued to wait, some of us for over an hour to get any food! Our reservation was for 7:30 so this made it quite late for dinner. I ordered the Chili Cashew Chicken stir fry. My bowl contained a good portion of rice noodles but with huge chunks of Napa cabbage, including the core! The sauce was difficult to find as was the chicken! There seemed to be definite problems in the kitchen. It will be a long time before I visit again. Very disappointed!!!

Chef Will outdoes himself Every time. The setting is beautiful, newly renovated and very cozy. We have dined over a dozen times here now and we have yet to have a meal disappoint. Italian inspired pizzas, fresh salads and delicious pastas! From drinks to dessert the service and experience is always wonderful. The patio in the summer cannot be beat. Definitely a place to stop by for a nice date or a family meal. Something to suit everyone!

My first encounter with Stillwaters was purely accidental. I was in Paris with my husband and we were thinking about having dinner somewhere. Stillwaters was right next to us and we went in.
It’s a great location, right on the Grand River, the atmosphere is warm and comfortable, not too loud, and not a mausoleum. Our server, a very funky woman with ponytails, was enthusiastic, upbeat, knowledgeable, and knew how to talk about the food offered. It isn’t often you find a server who knows about everything on the menu, and has tried it.
Be prepared for a lot of food. Exceptionally good food. Food that has been prepared with consideration, with a fine palette, and a creative touch. Everything on the menu is good. Even the wine selection, though small, is tastefully selected, and paired very well with the menu.
Always a good time at Stillwaters!

My neighbors had lunch there and it has been good, plus I have heard from others this a good place to eat, having been in the industry for more then forty years I did realize whenever some one rants and raves about a eatery It might be not as great a they say .
So of we went to enjoy a wonderful lunch so I thought, I like to spare you the details I just like to tell you it has been one the worst dining experience I had in a long time .
Day after in Paris we where looking to have lunch again and decided to have lunch at the Brown Dog, what a difference, great staff great food and the patio overlooking the Grand has been fantastic.

I had their fettuccine alfredo and I really liked the chef’s take on this dish.
Another time, I had gone for lunch and really liked their gravy with a hint of wine for the steak I had ordered.
The location and the view are spectacular for the area. This is definitely a nice place to go for a date or just a simple night out on the town or even for brunch.
The only problem might be the street parking, but this is usual for a downtown location.
NB. This place used to be called Kenu. I believe the owners are still the same.

Nice setting on the river, but…
The windows of this view restaurant were filthy. They need to be cleaned and kept clean.
The food was ok, but not really that good. I had rotisserie chicken and fries. Swiss Chalet does it better. The other meals were so-​so. The staff were friendly and efficient.
This restaurant has a good setting and could be a very good destination. That said, they have work to do to get there. Time will tell whether they make it.
I am interested in the view of others.
