YEE Judgement Day @ The Kort Haus

It’s fun to be elite especially if you can invite 2 guests to join. The venue was not difficult to find especially after a drive from downtown during the pre Pan Am HOV traffic after work. Surprisingly, the drive was not as bad as I thought comparing to the subway up north or streetcars in the downtown core.
Once in the venue, Kris warmly welcomed myself and my guests. The venue was closed for all GTA elite to enjoy the evening before opening the restaurant to the public after the event. Rain and traffic didn’t prevent everyone from across the city to drive up to Brampton.
The games were amazing with much thought for a delightful Tuesday evening. We first started with beer pong with a win and then were challenged with pictionary. Throughout the games, we were served sliders, wings and other finger food by our wonderful servers.
The quiz was fun but my team shined at the final by completing the puzzle. It was a great night. Thanks to Kris and his team and especially the owner and staff of Kort Haus. The beer was great as well supplied by local breweries.

This would’ve been THE perfect opportunity to meet new people had I arrived earlier.
The food was extraordinary and I was surprised to see how much Kort Haus put out. I tried the wings, waffle fries with the different dips, and sliders. I can’t wait to go back to Kort Haus, especially since it’s only a 10 minute drive from my parents’ place in Mississauga. And I am there every week.

Has a blast at the first event attended in Brampton at the Kort Haus! I’ve never heard of this place even though I’m regularly in Brampton but i’ll definitely come back to this spot for a casual night out with friends if we’re in the area.
Thanks Chris CM and Jano marketing intern for hosting such a fun and interactive event. It was nice to mingle and get to know other elites and their plus ones through different games. My favourite game of the night was the «beer pong» game, with throwing the ping pong balls in the cup, something that my friends and I play all the time! The games were very creative and showed a bit of competitiveness from some of the elites.
What can I say about the food and drinks? There is never a disappointment and there was an abundant amount of food to snack on such as sliders, wings, and fries, all of which were pretty yummy. My favourite beer of the night goes to the brewery from Richmond Hill, it had a nice light lager flavour that appealed to my taste buds.
What a great night and I’m definitely looking forward to the next event in the GTA west!

hard is the 2^nd puzzle that was the colorful one in the puzzle room! The dragon was so much easier!!! Team 2’s flawless undefeated record was nevertheless uh, defeated by that puzzle! Our loss in beer pong should have not count due to cheating, or so I was told by our fearless leader Amy Z.
The Kort Haus certainly brought it all out this fine evening. Their sliders were awesomely good, as was the dozens of sauces that went very well with the endless fries. I was honestly stuffed and yet still more food came out! Service was provided with a friendly smile, what more can anyone ask for? It’s a truly win-​win formula for any establishment, great food with great staff to serve it. I will be returning to try their full menu in the near future! I’m curious as to what the rest of their chicken wings must be like. The ones I sampled tonight were fantastic, even those hot wings!
Refreshments were provided by craft breweries Lake Wilcox and Beau’s, a marvelous combination and always a welcoming presence at these events! They’ve certainly won me over with their beers and I can’t wait to grab some from the Beer Store next time.
As always, Elites and other Unilocalers made it all the more memorable to what certainly was a chaotic and competitive night of games! Great change up for these events, Kris! In my defense, all of you brought out the competitive spirit in me during that first puzzle round!

New things aren’t always good, but yesterday was a lot of firsts and all of them were damn great! The elites and +1’s were all split up into 4 teams upon arrival… so the competition started. We were organized to play in 5 different awesome games around the venue (which is massive btw, with private rooms) and were provided delicious goodies after each round!

The atmosphere was buzzing and people were having so much fun that even if your team wasn’t doing that well you’re still having a blast. Beau’s and a newbie on the craft beer market Wilcox Mad Quacker were steadily flowing to fuel all the fun. The Kort Haus very generously provided enough food to feed an army! Huge wings in a variety of delicious sauces… waffle fries with 12 different dips (WAFFLE FRIES), different protein filled sliders, flat bread and a few more delicious looking items.
I would go back just for their wings… large in size, crispy on the outside and very saucy while juicy on the inside. Their extreme hot sauce wasn’t a killer but definitely flavorful.
At the end, our team won… in a nail biting counting down of seconds puzzle building contest! So much fun! I haven’t done puzzles in years and forgot how much fun it was:)
It was an exhilarating definitely welcomed mid-​week event that had people not wanting to leave when it was over!

Finding about new places in Brampton are great and especially when you find out about it with your fellow Elites! The Kort Haus was the venue for this YEE and was a great choice. The staff here was excellent and also helped out on this event by organizing 5 events that us Elites had to accomplish.
The events of the evening consisted of a «legal» theme to it considering we were across the street from the Brampton courthouse and the venue was called the «Kort Haus». Beer Pong, Pictionary type game, Puzzles, Trivia and timed list sort of activity captured and expressed all the fun a bunch of Elites and their +1 could have. We were also luckly enough to try out Lake Wilcox brewery. a new craft brewery that has hit the market and their new Wilcox Mad Quacker. Beau’s Brewery was there as well with my ever favorite Lug Tread and the seasonal Fesitiveale. Excellent flavors with a hint of sweetness. We were also treated to the food tastings from the Kort Haus. savory flatbreads. beef and chicken sliders… quesdillas…and sauces galore to sample. I can’t forget some of the awesometastic new Unilocal SWAG that was there as well. I fully was «Charged» up about the new Elite only gift that we got as well.
Great job goes out to Kris U and our new UnilocalGTA intern Jano! for organizing and running another awesome event.

What could be more fun then scrambling to finish a ridiculously difficult puzzle of (I still don’t know what the heck that 2^nd one was supposed to be!) or playing a super-​intense, down-​to-​the-​wire game of Beer Pong while stuffing sliders into our mouths?
I won’t even get into how close our team was to going 4 – 0, had it not been for my crisis of morality during the second Puzzle-​off or the great Beer Pong scandal of 2015! Win or lose, it was tons of fun playing games with the other Unilocalers, and seeing the different personalities come out. Great idea by Kris to try out this new format!
Although I wasn’t really stuffing my face with sliders, I did get a chance to try a bit of everything. The sliders with onion strings were fantastic, and those freshly fried Waffle fries were amazing. It was a shame nobody actually tried to drink all the «soups,» as was talked about, but impressive that Kort House has so many sauce options. Great to see the always friendly and informative Hilary helping to serve the Beau’s! The Wilcox guys were a bit less talkative, but their Mad Quacker was oh-​so smooooth.
Was great to hear from Kris and the owner about the whole backstory of this place, and the kind of reclamation project they’re carrying out. It’s a great space, and the food is good, so I imagine it’ll do just fine. Thanks for organizing another great event Kris! Welcome also to new Marketing Intern Jano!

Food, beer, games, SWAG. Errythang was top notch last night.
I LOVED the Quesadillas here at the Kort Haus. I tried to take a picture of them but Unilocalers were making them disappear. Waffle fries was served with plenty of different dipping sauces to choose from. Chicken wings of different flavours all fresh and tasty. Delicious beef and chicken mini burgers. Kort Haus was very generous, plates kept coming that everyone was full and there was still some leftovers.
We were the first to sample Wilcox mad Quacker. We were also served Kort Haus special brew the beau. I was double fisting last night.
Kris you did a great job implementing games to the mix. From jigsaw to pictionary to beer pong they were all great. (Snakes & lattes event anyone?)
Next level SWAG this event. Shades, hand sanitizers, post its, and a phone charger! I tested it out on my NEXUS and it charged zero to a hundred real quick.
I met few new faces today. It’s always nice to meet new Unilocalers at Unilocal events. Thank you Kris for planning such nice event and see you guys all tomorrow on the Nauti.

Super big thank you to the Wilcox and Beau breweries as well as the lovely Kort Haus for having us tonight. Of course, a huge shout out to Kris is in order for executing tonight’s shenanigans perfectly.

+ GAMES: Loved the games that really got us outside of our comfort zone and talking to people. That was my favorite part.
Thank you once again, Kort Haus, for the private party. I really did love that play on words (the restaurant is actually down the street from the Brampton court house– you know, where people get sentenced to prison for committing crimes). Well played, my friends. Well played.

What’s the first description of a 5 star review…“Woohoo!” Yep, that’s a great way to describe this event.
From the get-​go, we were divided into teams to compete in various events. The Kort Haus is a nice, big open area and was perfectly suited for it. I’m not a new elite on the block anymore, but it’s still nice to have a way to break the ice to meet others. Here, we were united in the goal of winning at all costs for pride and a $ 10 gift card (to The Kort Haus).
Well, fate decided that the best of the best would be joined together on team 3. Beer pong: played more hygienically with water cups. Fortunately, Beau’s beer was right on hand to provide the tasty (and clean) beer. Fittingly, Team 3 beat Team 1 with a 3 – 1 remaining cup score.
At all game areas, The Kort Haus offered various samplings of their menu. Wings, fries (and waffle fries), quesadillas, burger sliders, and they also had about a dozen sauces to sample so you can see what else you can normally choose from when ordering wings.
Next game was Pictionary. Though being shut out by the completion may have seemed an odd detour on the path to victory, it allowed Team 3 to remain humble and possibly be underestimated at a later decisive battle. Nearby was Wilcox Lake Brewing Co. Nice draft beer provided by this upstart brewery and great with the pub food.
Culinary trivia was the next test. If Trebeck was present, he might say: «This team decisively took this round thanks to their combined knowledge and diverse cultural backgrounds.» If you said: «Who is Team 3?» you would get the daily double.
As fate would have it, Team 3 were faced against the former foes who seemingly humiliated them in Pictionary. The final battle would be a puzzle for each team — no seriously: it was completing a puzzle. It was held in a cool room which I imagine the Kort Haus can offer for a private room. By this point, Team 3 had become a unified with all the pieces coming together — much like the puzzle they were completing. When the final the bell rung, the nearly complete dragon was a symbol of Team 3’s glorious victory.

Definitely a unique event where I enjoyed the interactive games and putting people in teams so we could all get to know eachother better. Great idea Kris! Great games such as the puzzles, pictionary, trivia, and my all time favorite beer pong!!!

THIS is why it’s fun to be elite… Even though it took us over 1.5hrs getting here but ok, it was worth it! First time to Brampton! Started the event off nicely, because elites got a free mobile Unilocal-​ized mobile charger when we checked in! Sweet!
The food was AMAZING! I found out we had waffle fries in the back and DROOOOL. SO GOOD! Their fries were so yummy! They also had so many different and unique dips for them– I’m in love. The bbq wings were also super tasty, I’m glad they made me try it even though I was full. Oh yeah, did I mention– this is the first Unilocal event where I’m actually STUFFED?! Holy… So. Much. Food. No shortage at all, it kept coming and coming. I also discovered a new fave beer! Lake Wilcox? Was that the name? We were the first group to every try it and that in itself is pretty rad. It’s amazing; the dark beer taste without the serious bitterness
I liked how it was like a game show! My team was basking in our victory until we had to play puzzles AGAIN and we lost the second time around. Puzzles is frustrating, man! With all the sweaty hands and dimness. and who can forget Matt V’s aggressiveness («Ok, you need to get out of the way») I would’ve loved to try the categories game but unfortunately we didn’t get to do a full rotation.
Thank you Kris and kort haus for giving us this amazing event! As usual, I had fun catching up with my Unilocal friends and meeting new people! Unilocal has actually helped me so much in making lifelong friends and it’s all thanks to events like this!

Games were a lot of fun. Made it a lot easier to meet people. As always the Unilocal crowd was friendly and welcoming.
The food served at the Kourt House was ok. Wings were nice and crispy. The waffle fries was a definite favorite. Loved the multitude of dips for the fries.

So this is my first actual Unilocal event as an elite! Haha pretty funny since I’ve been to a few already as a +1. Compared to the other events we would usually sign in and sit and just talk with the same people that we’ve already made friends with. However this event is different as it brought out activities to do within the bar and bring people together as teams to do them. I for one am totally for activities like these because it’s fun and you get to meet people through these events. Whether you’re on the same team or not! I loved this event just because it’s interactive and slightly competitive, but everyone’s working together.
The food is amazing or at least to me those burgers hmmmm. I had at least 10 burgers. They are these nice sliders and oh man, one had chicken, another had pulled pork and my favorite was the beef burger. The beers were amazing too! I’m more of a Rickard red /​sapporo person, but the beer we had was so smooth! Will definitely be stocking my fridge with those beers.
The staff were super friendly and the owner seems like an amazing guy. Also to Kris and his new intern, amazing job on the event! Can’t wait for more!
