Stryke Target Range

My friends surprised me for my birthday and took me here on a Saturday afternoon. We were a group of 5 and it was my birthday so naturally we did the ‘Tour De Stryke”. This allows you to pick any 3 of the activities they offer. You get 1 hour for each activity so you’re required to book a 3 hour time frame. We came in from 4pm-​7pm and I think it was the perfect time. There was one other party there and then our group of 5. Not busy at all.
We decided to do the archery, air rifles and knives throwing. The archery was probably my favourite (because I was so good). Once you get the hang of it, you get really into it. Our coach that stayed with us the whole time was excellent. He was easy to talk to and seemed genuinely interested in providing a good time for us. For all challenges we would get some practice shots and then then turn it into a competition. Our coach would keep score for us and be just into it as we were.
Onto the air rifles. This would have been better if our «bullets» would actually go where we were shooting. There must have been a vent or something to do with the gun that would make the bullets curve. However, no big deal, I still got to go HAM with the gun at the end and just kept firing off rounds lol.
Knife throwing was definitely the hardest! I only landed one knife out of probably 100 tries! You really need strength or strategy with this one. I’m a petite girl, so it was harder for me. You are more likely to land the knife if you hold it by the blade, but that was too scary for me lol. The guys I were with all did it this way and were able to land plenty.
I think this is a great concept, especially for Brampton. It’s a great option if you’re looking for something to do indoors on a rainy or cold weekend. Oh ya and you can BYOB! Shout out to our coach! I wish I knew your name!

I’ve been here 4 times in the last few weeks, each time with a different group. I’ve enjoyed myself every time and have noticed much improvement with the staff, their instructions and efficiency.
Each time I’ve gone I did the «tour de Stryke» which is a combination of knife throwing axe throwing and archery. Out of them all I definitely enjoy the axe throwing the most and the knife throwing i find is the most challenging.
I have not had the opportunity to shoot any air guns but plan to on my next visit.
I cannot wait for the leagues to begin, I already have like 20 people who want to make a team :)
I would highly recommend for everyone to try it out!

Absolutely loved this place. We went axe throwing, knife throwing, and did a little archery. Our group of 8 had so much fun. It’s a great out of the box experience that I would recommend to all my friends.
Staff was super friendly.
Restrooms were clean.
Plenty of parking.
And btw, there’s booze available. =)
It was about 55 bucks a person. Might be a little expensive for some peeps, but seriously when and where can you throw an Axe without being on the ten O clock news?

I think this is a case of «great concept, poor execution.» First, let’s talk about the price. I went there for a charity event, and I got in for around $ 30. Regularly, it is around $ 50. I think this is pretty expensive, but your frame of reference may be different.
Secondly, be prepared to wait around a lot. I don’t know if it was because the place was new and understaffed, but I spent approximately 80% of my time waiting around. There were multiple target lanes open, but seemingly not enough staff there. When I am paying for an experience, the last thing I want is to spend most of my time waiting.
The problem was exacerbated by the fact that there were children there. If it is a child’s turn ahead of you, how are you going to complain when the kid’s mother wants another turn for a photo opportunity? You just can’t win.
Lastly, I felt that some of the staff did not do a good job. One of the staff manning the archery station didn’t even properly explain how to use a bow. He just kept telling me to «aim lower», and then remarked «what happened there?» when one arrow hit the floor. At the station, we are supposed to have five shots per round for scoring. I was consistently using three, and he didn’t even offer me two more.
I see this place as more of a novelty. If you are an adult, I recommend renting the place out once and never going again. I could see it having value if they lowered the price and had constant activities, but until then I recommend a one-​and-​done approach.
