Well known as a picnic area for Brampton, this conservation area gets heavily used, especially in warm weather so do expect a crowd. Many of the picnic spots get booked for groups so you need to get there early if you want a spot. There are scads of picnic tables everywhere so they are up for the challenge of handling the crowds and the parking lots are massive. The lake gets stocked with fish so that is a popular activity and the latest thing to do is the zip line and tree top trekking which I’ve been told is a lot of fun to be darting around up in the tree tops. The zip line goes across part of the lake and could be ok, but looks unimpressive from below near the water as you could easily just jump into the water from the line. It’s probably scarier up there though. The other popular thing to do is to rent a pedal boat or row boat. Remember to check the rudder and pedals for operation before leaving as some of the boats are sketchy. You can ask for canoe paddles for the row boat so more than one person can help out as it looks awfully boring otherwise if you’re not rowing. The lake is fun to explore the shore line and we saw a large turtle hanging near the shore that let us pet it as well as some large birds chilling too. Most overlooked would be the trails here with friends saying they spent four hours hiking them. There is a map you can get and key yourself to the numbered poles around the park otherwise they are difficult to find which is cool. Some of the park trails go through wetlands so watch out for mosquitoes in the summer. There are frogs around too so watch your step. Some people rode around on mountain bikes but I’m not sure what trails are good for that, so you can ask at the front gate. Great urban park!

Great local spot in Brampton! They stock the lake with rainbow trout and they have lots of decent fishing spots. You can also buy tackle there and rent boats. The fish are mostly used to worms but they’ll bite on a few lures if you’re lucky. I believe the entrance fee is about $ 8 but it’s pretty quiet and relaxing so I feel like it’s worth it.
