Specialties

Toronto’s premier destination for Caribbean Rotis and Pastry. Our business has three components; Great take out restaurant for delicious Roti and Pastry; Producing Dhalpuris, Parathas and Aloopuris (premium flatbreads) for parties, weddings and other special occasions; we also service numerous restaurants and banquet halls; Alima’s Bakery which produces traditional Caribbean breads and cakes.

Here are some of the products we make from scratch each day — Dhalpuris, Parathas, Aloopuris, Curries, (Chicken, Lamb, Vegetarian, Beef, Shrimp, Mango), Pastry including Pine-tarts, Currant Rolls, Coconut Rolls, Cheese Rolls, Guava Turnovers, Cassava Pone; «Doubles», Aloo-Pies, Polouri, Potato Balls, and from the bakery, Tennis Rolls, Plait Loafs, Aniseed Loafs in white or whole-wheat.

We also have a great line of frozen ‘convenience’ products, including all the curries sold in 1lb portions, and our world-famous «Freezer-pack’ Rotis. These meal solutions are extremely popular.

History

Established in 1992.

Alima’s started serving our great customers since 1992. Back then we had three employees and we occupied 1500 sq. ft in the complex. Initially we did not have a retail component and prepared our fine products by order only. However we soon saw the need to further serve our customers and we opened for retail take-out. Since then we have grown steadily; we are now open seven days a week; we have twenty– six employees and we occupy 8000 sq ft in our complex.
