Right when you walk into town from the docks is Silver Bridge Gallery. Last summer as we strolled past, a painting hung in the window grabbed me by the collar, demanded my attention, and dragged me in. I had to see it up close and personal. Entering the store, however, I was instantly side-tracked by the outstanding array of beautiful art displayed. Most all the artists featured in Silver Bridge are local to the Muskoka Lakes region(or at least Ontario), and their art reflects that gorgeous surrounding landscape and ethos. Ceramics, watercolors, bronzes, oils, glass, jewelry… all are infused with the serenity and natural beauty of Muskoka. Prices range considerably, but are on the spendier side. The oil painting in the window that had lured me in to the shop in the first place was a landscape by Deborah Gibson(alas, not of «Electric Youth» fame…). I bought it on the spot. The woman working the gallery was incredibly pleasant, helpful, and no-pressure. Much appreciated.
