This place is a cute and quaint little piece of property in Erieau. With limited options for a stay at this excellent fishing spot, Bayview Bliss is always my first choice. It’s run by Marge and her husband. Marge herself is really quite an impressive lady. Makes little cards about her customers to remember information about them, which is a nice touch because she knows you’ll come back — and when you do, she’ll ask you how your dog’s doing after his surgery last year and if you’re settling into your new job. The property itself is small, as most fishing resorts are, but it’s very well maintained and clean(which is refreshing compared to some of the other fishing cottages i have stayed at around Ontario). As you drive into the property, there is essentially two rows of rentals looking onto the owner’s house. Passed the rentals is a large shed and a small shed to clean your fish. Then a nice long dock on which you can actually catch. In terms of rentals, there’s three options — cottages, cabins and rustic cabins(in descending order of price). I’ve stayed in a rustic cabin and in a cottage, and the choice is really dependant on the number of ppl you have in your group. More than two, go with a cottage, two or less, go with a rustic cabin. 3, maybe consider a cabin. If you’re going to be cooking, then get a cottage because the rustics only come with the basics — a fridge, an mini electric grill and a coffee maker. If you don’t have a boat and need a rental, you can rent one from Marge for a pretty reasonable price. If you are thinking of going, call in and find out if she has space. The place is quite popular with out of towners(a lot of Americans come here for fishing) and make sure you let her know you will need a boat if you do. In terms of fishing, the lake is great. It’s got lots of walleye, bass, musky, and some of the largest crappy i’ve ever seen. In terms of lure, we always seem to have best luck with spinners(silver, white, dark depending on time of day and year) and #5 mepps.
