Since moving to the Barrie area this Indian restaurant has been my go to. Food is delicious and service is fantastic. Dishes are quite reasonably priced especially when compared to other Indian restaurants in the area. Would highly recommend!

Came here with my girlfriend for a nice night out for dinner, and while the staff were very friendly and the place was very clean(especially, the bathrooms), unfortunately the food wasn’t very great. We had the butter chicken which was VERY plain and one of the worst we’ve ever had. To be fair, their naans, were really good. All in all, the restaurant name is true to its word, they did serve the food faster than we would expect, at any other restaurant. Plus, the quantity of food was more than abundant, which was good.

Food and service are top notch. Prices are reasonable. The hostess, Goldie, is very friendly and clearly makes an effort to remember people’s names and preferences. I recommend the korma and the chicken kashmiri.

In short: a charming little family restaurant serving Indian food tailored to the Canadian palate. I’ve been to Tiffins a dozen times over the past couple of years, and I’ve never had a disappointing meal there. The hostess, Goldie, considers anyone who visits more than twice to be a regular, and dispenses hugs and genuinely warm greetings accordingly. Does she have a slight tendency to prioritize those regular customers over newcomers to the restaurant? Well, sometimes, but it’s not consciously discriminatory: it’s more that she considers her regulars to be friends, and it’s natural for her to want to linger at her friends’ table for a moment to ask them how their lives are going.(I brought my exceptionally elderly grandmother with me to dinner once, and every time I’ve visited since, Goldie has anxiously inquired about my grandmother’s health). The food ranges from«pretty good» to «very good.» The lunch buffet has a dish of curry potato with mustard seeds that I could just eat constantly without stopping, and the onion bhaji is fantastic. The chicken korma is heavy on cashew paste, light on coconut milk, and uses tart dried cranberries instead of raisins, making it a nice change from the insipidly sweet version of the dish offered down the road at Tara. Dinner is reasonably priced, with entrees in the $ 13 – 18 range. The lunch buffet is an absolute bargain, though: the selection is a bit limited, but it includes the standards like butter chicken, samosas, and the aforementioned potatoes, which are seriously worth the price of admission on their own. Tiffins isn’t Michelin star dining, and I’m sure Indian food purists would turn their noses up at the relative simplicity of some of the dishes. But it’s a pleasant place run by lovely people who serve good food with a smile, and in Barrie, that earns them a 5 out of 5 rating.

This place is a bit pricey but sooo Delicious. Love the tandoori chicken and biriani. Food is 5 stars price is a 3. So I settled on 4 stars. I can tell they put a lot of effort into their cooking so it is worth the price but if it costed less I would eat there a lot more. Very nice people too :)

Had the Beef Kabob, my wife had the butter chicken… Both were delicious and the portions generous… The Mulligatawny was the best we ever had… An overall great experience

Always an enjoyable, if not overly spicy(no complaints, we asked for it) meal here. The fish vindaloo is my favourite.

I can’t believe we went to a place called Curry in Hurry, haha! There were 4 ½ of us in our party for lunch today. When we entered we were greeted with a smile and were invited to sit anywhere we liked. We were promptly provided with a highchair. It was 12:00pm and we were the only customers but the place, which only has 7 tables, quickly filled up. Clearly there are many regulars as the owner knew many of the customers. The food is all very mild in spice but very tasty. You can request the food be made medium or hot or they will more than happily provide you with a side of hot sauce. It is a nicely decorated and comfortable place though a bit snug. The washroom was clean with a motion sensor light that activates when you walk in. The prices are very reasonable and the portions are good and there is quite a bit of selection. You can park on the street out front or use the huge public parking lot in the back where it is only $ 0.75/hour(gotta love Barrie) but you can only use quarters, loonies or toonies to buy your time. The revitalized Barrie waterfront is right there too, should you fancy a walk after your meal. We will definitely be going back to this cute little restaurant.

I was in the area for lunch, using my Unilocal app to find one of the top rated places to eat, and I’d settled on Indian. I’d actually decided on the restaurant across the street, but it appeared closed. «Appeared» because when I left ‘Tiffins Curry in a Hurry’, I realized that the other place was actually open. Luckily I was able to try Tiffins Curry in a Hurry. The owners were pleasant and catared to a combination plate request that was even on their menu. The food was typical to Indian cuisine, served in a large tray, and most importantly, served piping hot. I tried the chicken and lamb and ended up added a lot of extra hot sauce, which they happily provided. What can I say? Some like it hot. I recommend this joint to anyone who likes Indian food. The area looks like they need some business!
