Midas

I went here to get an oil change for my Honda Civic. I typically go to the dealership and pay about $ 70.00 for an oil change, diagnostic and get to sit in a comfortable waiting room with tv and coffee.
The dealership I normally use for service was busy and I had to go to the least busy place I could find with a decent reputation. I went to Midas. The lady working the desk was polite but made no small talk. The service centre was very slow, I was the only customer there. I waited well over an hour while my oil change was being done. I waited in a very quiet waiting room with no tv, radio and was not offered coffee or water.
After an hour I get called up to the desk, I assume it is time to pay. The mechanic took me into the garage to show me a dirty air filter that was supposed to scare me into buying a new air filter. The mechanic quotes me 25 dollars to replace said filter. I said fine, hoping I could move on with my day. The mechanic then shows me a diagram indicating that he believes I need new Tires, my tread was at 7/​32s. The mechanic or service adviser recommends I replace my wipers.
I am very respectful of others in the car industry as I sell cars for a living so I was very polite and said No. I was aware my tread levels were find and my car was a year old and my wipers are just fine.
I sit back down waiting for my car to be finished, at this point I am into them for a synthetic oil change and a new cabin air filter. The mechanic comes out to me with a paper printed quote for all the work he wants to do to my car. The air filter jumped in price from $ 25 to $ 45 because he recommends a specific brand which is so effective at improving oil life (My car already receives over 8000 km between oil changes!).
I advise the mechanic that I want the regular filter and the oil change I asked for (an hour and a half ago!). My car is finally completed. I receive my final price…$ 130.00…I paid and let the lady know, this was not a great experience for me, between the extremely lengthy wait, the multiple up-​sell attempts and the jacked up prices. The cashier says to me «Oh really? Oil changes can get expensive.» I was well aware, I work in the auto industry and the price was the least of my concerns. The predatory up-​selling was my main gripe.
I attempted to post a review on the company website and they required I dig up an invoice number before submitting a review.
I waited weeks before posting this so that I would post a less hateful review.

I have a Honda CR-​V (my baby) and trust Midas on Bayfield more than my Honda Dealership ! Everyone from Lynn in the front to all the guys in the shop even the shuttle driver are SO PROFESSIONAL kind pleasant «knowledgable» **** I will «NEVER» take my car anywhere else. Simply put … THEY’RE THE BEST ! I highly recommend them to everyone.
