This place has a classic diner atmosphere, which is fun… but the food is very average, as is the service.

I love this place. The décor is comforting and suits the place nicely. Each booth comes with a mini TV playing a children’s movie. The milkshakes here are the best I’ve ever tasted. All milkshakes come in a tall glass with extra in a metal cup on the side. The chicken fingers are also great here. It tastes like real chicken, not like the stuff you get from fast food. Definitely a place to check out!

Food was alright. But the service was pretty bad kinda rude actually. Portion size was small, I ordered the scrambled poutine and it says it comes with toast and a side but I didn’t get any :/never going back.

This was exactly what I needed after 3 days of basically living off of granola bars and bananas. I was part of a really large group that was a bit later than expected getting there. So even though someone called ahead, the lateness had them thinking we weren’t showing up so some people had left fr the day. I felt REALLY bad for the folks working about that, but they did NOT dissappoint. The food all came out in a reasonable amount of time and the staff was running in circles to make sure our group was all happy(we took over half the resturaunt easy), top all that off with excellent food and we where a very happy group.

Love the food and the décor! The place is easy to miss as it is a standalone restaurant and comes up very quickly once you exit the highway. Lots of free parking at the back. We had the 3 egg Benny and peameal bacon on English muffin combo that came with home fries and fruit or fried tomato. The fruit is canned, which I haven’t had since I was a kid. So good and satisfying. We also had the scrambled egg poutine. Get it with the sausage! So good. Definitely not an everyday meal. Super satisfying for brunch after a weekend of skiing. Bonus, it’s so on the way back to Toronto from Barrie.

I was born in the wrong decade, so flashbacks has always been a favourite of mine. I love the 60’s-70’s music, it is a great family restaurant that my family typically enjoys. My dad loves their all day breakfasts, my mom likes to try different things from their menu and I always enjoy their milkshakes! However the past few times I have been slightly disappointed. The service has been mediocre at best; the wait time for our food was slow. We were forgotten about, or couldn’t see any servers working. When we arrived at the restaurant there were a few staff members smoking out back, and when we left there was still a group smoking out back… I know where our servers went. I would still recommend this place if you’re looking for a fun little brunch. I would like to mention that it is rather packed during those hours, sometimes there can be a line of 5 families waiting to be seated. Those are probably the best days to go because the servers are actually working hard and don’t disappear!

The boyfriend brought me here for breakfast for the first time just a few months ago, and I’ve been addicted every since! Their eggs & homefries are delicious, the portions are wonderful, and the price is extremely reasonable. The atmosphere is great too, and the staff are always so nice. I’ll keep coming back again & again.

Good atmosphere, service isn’t the best and food is mediocre. Kid friendly environment.

If you’re looking for a nostalgic vibe and a breakfast that tastes«just like ma’s», look no further than the Flashback. If you’re looking for lunch or dinner, though, well… I have mostly glowing things to say about this nostalgia diner. Service has been fast and friendly every time I’ve stopped in, and it seems like the kind of place where regulars are greeted by name and offered«the usual». The retro aesthetic is great, and I love the huge Three Stooges mural. It’s genuinely pleasant to visit. As for the food, if you’re sticking to the breakfast menu, it’s hard to go wrong. It’s simple comfort food done right, and everything has that authentic homecooked taste. It’s the lunch and dinner options that let the experience down a bit. Their cheeseburger is the greasiest I’ve ever tasted, and that’s saying something coming from a native St. Louisan. A lot of their non-breakfast offerings — especially the veggies — only capture the 50s vibe by tasting suspiciously like TV dinners If you’re looking for the perfect place to get your morning started, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Flashback. If you’re looking for lunch or dinner… ehh… it’s good they serve all-day breakfast.

When looking for that comfort breakfast food, 3 eggs with corned beef hash, this is my go to place! My husband loves the burgers. Great prices! Awesome staff!

Absolutely loved this place. it’s hard to find a classic diner in this city anymore but when I saw this place in neon lights it was like a moth to a flame. On a recent trip to Collingwood, I stopped in here for breakfast. We got a seat right away and the staff were very friendly. I was interested in the Scramble egg poutine — maybe I’ll get that next time. For this trip I has a classic plate of eggs, home fries and sausages. Everything was done perfectly. The menu is very wide so there is something there for everyone. I like places that have lighter choices if you don’t want a huge plate. 3 eggs is too much for me. They have a 1 egg option which was perfect. For 2 main dishes, coffee and an orange juice it came to $ 23. Very reasonable. Will definitely drop by here again!
