Cristy Harper is a registered massage therapist in Barrie Ontario and offers a multitude of treatment options to meet each persons specific needs. In any given massage treatment she may incorporate swedish massage therapy, structural integration, myofascial release, trigger point therapy, contract relax stretching, muscle energy, and remedial exercise for home care.

Cristy has been practicing massage therapy since 2007 and most recently completed her structural integration training in Seattle Washington where she trained with an elite group of kinesis myofascial integration practitioners, and is now internationally certified in KMI and Structural Integration.

Cristy strongly believes in the myofascial approach to treatment which looks at the human body as a whole, rather than it’s «muscular parts». She works to balance and align the entire body, and is looking forward to bringing a different approach here in Barrie Ontario.

History

Established in 2007.

Cristy began to study massage therapy in September 2003. She quickly realized that she had a deep passion for anatomy and kinesiology and graduated at the top of her class from the West Coast College of Massage Therapy in December 2006. She is currently working toward her Bachelor of Health Science Degree with Thompson Rivers University and is excited for recent move to Barrie, Ontario from Victoria, BC.

Cristy has completed 2 Human Anatomy pro-​sections where she participated in a human dissection anatomy review and was able to see firsthand the muscles and connective tissue that she works with on a daily basis. She recently joined Thomas Myers in Tempe Arizona for a 5 day full body dissection where she was be able to participate and explore the amazing human body. Cristy feels as though this was a remarkable and invaluable experience that she will never forget. This opportunity has given her a 3 dimensional visual of the neurological, musculo-​skeletal, visceral, and myofascial system

Cristy Harper is a Registered Massage Therapist in good standing with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario. In January 2011 Cristy decided to expand her knowledge and expertise in the study of myo-​fascia and graduated from the Kinesis Myofascial Integration program in Seattle Washington in December 2011. Her knowledge and passion for understanding the myofascial system is what lead her on this educational journey, and she looks forward to incorporating this cutting edge treatment alongside her regular massage therapy practice.

Some of Cristy’s passions include running, weight training, travelling, learning, working with seniors, playing with her adorable French bulldogs Rocky, and Hugo. But most importantly, the amazing and exploratory journey in her profession that keeps her striving for a deeper understanding of human structure and function.
