Banff Trail Riders offers year round adventure and Western Hospitality. During the summer we offer trail rides from 1 hour to 6 days as well as Cowboy Cookouts, Carriage Rides and a retail store featuring all your western clothing and gifts. During the winter join us for one of our popular sleigh rides or cross country ski to Sundance Lodge.

We follow the same historic routes that the original explorers of the Canadian Rockies carved through the bush back in the 1920s.

We got an activity package from Discovery Banff Adventures that included an hour of horseback riding. We did the Spray River ride. We had 5 adults and 4 kids. It was quite an adventure. The terrain was often challenging going uphill and downhill, but you just let the horse do the work. I’ve never been around horses that were pooping and peeing so much. My horse was named Donny. The names were cute. My horse was good to me. A couple of my nephews are small and had some trouble. The horse would be eating when it shouldn’t be. The had trouble controlling the horse at times. Luckily the guides do a good job of watching out and can come to the rescue. I had a lot of fun. We went by rapids (flowing water), a golf course, and galloped through the river. We had an extra wait time before we got started. Kinda annoying, but overall great experience. I love horses!
