4 stars for the patio, the view and the quick and attentive staff. There aren’t many seats inside though. I usually stick to the same drink at every Starbucks: a «Tall Blonde». Joke’s on you :)

This location was okay. The employees were really friendly but the service was really slow. At this location orders are taken and prepared at a much slower rate than other major locations in downtown Toronto. If you have time to spare and you don’t mind waiting a while, this location will suit you just fine. It wasn’t too busy and there were some empty tables available for customers to sit down and enjoy their purchase.

Love the patio, friendly staff and free drinks for my birthday thanks to their Sbux Gift card/Birthday deal. I went to redeem mine this year, and the free drink wasn’t showing up on my account. The barista very sweetly gave me my order for free anyways. On another occassion my 3 year-old daughter was running around and scraped her knee. The barista working that day gave her a free cake pop, which of course made everything better quickly. :) In case your wondering, I’m not a regular unless it’s winter and the Caramel Brulee latte is on the menu. :)

..We went to this Starbucks location while visiting relatives in Newmarket last weekend… July 20. early morning… It was absoulutely discustingly dirty from the front door to the outside patio. including the restroom… the floors had food everywhere the tables had not been wiped off the outside patio was covered with cigarette butts and looked like it had never seen a powerwasher since the place opened… trash cans where lined up along the wall outside right in front of where u sit to eat… drink… whatever…(small fence would fix the problem) The trash can that the customers use on the right side of the entry door was overflowing at 10 in the morning… same thing in the restroom looked like a cheap bar restroom at closing… Now let me say the 2 ??? people that where working did there best considering it was Sat morning(2 staff people really!!!) this is a Mgm issue the staff where overwhelmed and certainly not responsible for the outside problems such as the trash cans and the very very dirty patio stones… Have visited Starbucks across the country US& Canada this one took first prize for the dirtiest ever… where is the health dept?

This is a review of this location vs other Starbucks locations. I specifically sought out a standalone Starbucks rather than one inside a Chapters or one inside a mall as I generally find that the standalones have a bit more personality and comfort. While the previous reviewer is correct in that the baristas know many of their customers(«The usual?»), I find the two that I dealt with treated a stranger i.e. me, with a certain disdain. I walked in with my Starbucks branded mug and asked for a tall. He looks at me and says, «Are you sure? Because that is definitely a grande.» I’ve used my Starbucks mug countless times, asking for a tall, and have never been asked that. I asked for a tall, because I wanted a tall. I’m not trying to cheat the system and get more coffee than what I’m asking for. If anything, give me less coffee to the amount that you think is a tall if it matters that much. In the end, I paid for the grande as in the spur of the moment, I felt somewhat guilted into in. In retrospect, totally unnecessary. Secondly, there was a full tray of samples when I got there at 815am. After the little exchange above, I didn’t bother asking if they were samples and the barista did not tell me about them. However, as I was there to do some work that morning, I sat through countless conversations with regulars where they were asked, «Would you like a sample?» It’s not so much about the samples as it is about being treated so off-handedly. Finally, the free wi-fi there is very spotty and is often not working for long periods of time. I have to say that there is absolutely nothing wrong with the coffee product here which is excellent as usual. If you’re a regular, the atmosphere is fairly jovial and throughout the course of the morning, you’re bound to see a neighbour or friend. Their seating area is sunny and bright. However, next time, if I’m in the area, I think I’ll try out the Chapters location.

Baristas here know many of the customers by name and by drink order. It’s a great feeling when you walk in a they’re already calling your coffee order before you get to the counter. It’s like ‘Cheers’ for coffee. The early morning crew is awesome — they help my morning get off to a great start!(Grande long Americano — 7:00 am)
