Aptus Learning motivates and prepares students to be successful in high school and beyond.

History

Established in 2015.

Aptus Learning was born from two teachers with years of experience teaching, coaching, and mentoring children, teens and adults. Tiziana Knox and Christopher Buffett combined their passion for and expertise in teaching with on-​going research to find and create the ideal learning environment for students.

They discovered that when students became more aware of their preferred learning styles and intelligences, learned to set challenging academic goals, and developed and strengthened their literacy and self-​regulation skills, they became much more motivated to achieve greater results in their studies. And that the more they practiced these skills, the more they became ingrained. It meant that students could carry the know-​how to be successful with them all the time!

Business Owner

Tiziana Knox is a certified OCT high school teacher and guidance counsellor, and is qualified to run Personality Dimensions Assessments™ and Life Skills Coaching. For over ten years, she has designed and delivered workshops and coaching to help students and adults meet their academic and career goals. Her vast knowledge of post-​secondary education in Ontario (both for Canadian and international students) and the ever-​changing labour market, has made her the ideal expert in helping students design and plan their futures.

A true motivator and leader, having trained with Dale Carnegie’s Effective Communications and Human Relations program, she has been instrumental in the coordination of employment services for newcomers to Canada, and motivated youth in high needs areas to continue high school and achieve economic self-​reliance.
