This Bakery is the heart of Almonte’s community. So deserving of praise in providing fresh and nutritious baked goods. Custom baked goodies, classic assortments of breads and treats, It’s truly difficult to think about the friendly town of Almonte without thinking of Baker Bob.

We always stop here when in Almonte. It’s a small place — but its FULL of great yummy foods. Amazing home baked items and lots of little extra’s to go along with them… not good for anybody on a diet ;) Love the feel of the space when you walk in — and the smell is to die for! It’s hard to stay focused on buying only one of two things so be warned ;)

Baker Bob’s is a small bakery and specialty food shop located on Little Bridge Street in Almonte. It’s adorably quaint with it’s limited seating and few shelves stocked with specialty food items including jams, pasta sauces, chocolates and candies. Located at the back, right side of the cash is where the baskets of freshly baked goods are on display, my favourite being the almond croissant. I’ve tried almond croissants at cafes and coffee shops but no one can compare to that of Baker Bobs, definitely a must have! They also sell Equator’s coffee in to go cups which is a nice complement to a yummy baked treat while walking around Mill Street. I just wished they were opened on Sundays too.

Baker Bob’s is situated on main street in Almonte — they have all kinds of fresh breads, pastries, muffins, etc. all baked on the spot in the ovens you can see while paying for your snacks… great spot.

A reasonably reliable bakery for basics — smallish variety of breads which are all tasty, happily sliced if you ask for them to be sliced), and normally very fresh. My sole quibble with B. Bob’s is that twice I have picked up buns and found out at home: definitely not fresh. Problem with organisation in moving stuff to the day-olds? This hasn’t happened for a while so perhaps the problem has been fixed. This shop also has a nice little selection of less-than-common sweets, and a couple of refrigerators with take-away items — we’d love more variety there but they are doing well with the egg salad sandwiches, and, recently, bits and pieces from Carleton Place’s pretty tasty Good Food Co(which we noticed are being sold at B. Bob’s for a quarter LESS than Good Food sells them for) — getting spinach-feta rice and cauliflower-asparagus salad at a bakery is a great thing and we are increasingly heading here for our lunch. (Which means we grieve the disappearance {temporary? of the tables…) Also: cookies and muffins and pastries, drinks, cheeses, pies, cakes, newspapers, a wall of mostly local jars of jams and savoury what-not. We’ve picked up more than a couple of things from here to pass along for gifts.
