Walmart

This Walmart Supercenter is probably my fave Walmarts in the Calgary area. Their shelves are always stocked, there are employees actually on the floor if you need anything and this place is GINORMOUS — I could easily wander around here for 3 hours and not be bored.
However, huge diesel trucks with the dangling metal bull testicles double parked in the lots will give you the indication of the clientele also wandering aimlessly inside. I’m pretty sure this location is where all those «People of Walmart» photos originated.
I’ve made the mistake of coming here a few times on the weekend in the afternoon — the hoards of people decked out in their finest sweat pants struggling to push their carts full of kids while their other kids are running every which way screaming down aisles makes my ovaries shrivel up like raisins.
So if you want to get some efficient shopping done, hit this place up early on the weekend or during the weekday/​night. Otherwise, if you’re looking to do some people watching and maybe make your own submissions to POW, feel free to take a seat at the McDonald’s or Tim’s located just inside the entrances.

This is the king of all Walmarts in the region. The Airdrie Walmart Supercentre has everything and at good prices.
It’s not as great as the American ones where you can buy liquor and guns and groceries and anything you want, but it’s our best hope. They do offer groceries at this location and anything else you can imagine a department store selling. They even have products you can’t find in the more urban Walmarts.
It’s worth a trip to if you need everything…
