Passing through Airdrie on the QE2 and need a pit stop? Pop on over to Starbucks. Located just off of the QE2, this Starbucks location has become a habitually stop for me. I travel through Airdrie a lot and have grown accustom to stopping into this location to use their bathroom and grab a coffee. This location is always well kept with friendly staff and usually isn’t very busy. They know how to make your order and won’t mess up your extra-hot-no-foam-soy-sugar-free-10-pump-caffeine-induced-addiction. Like Starbucks? Then drop by this location on your way through Airdrie.

Its 6:00AM and I’m very tired but need to be in Edmonton by 9:00. Got outa Calgary early and have the GPS homed in on this Starbucks. But I’ll be damned if its pointed to a nonexistent address … circle around the block and see a Timmy Hortons sign. Pull in front and, my god! Drive-thru lineup at least 10 cars deep, spilling out to the street. Line out the door. No way am I waiting in that line for a watered down coffee and gooey portable breakfast. But if this place is packed, the Starbucks will probably be too. With dumb luck, I see over to the left the sign for Seattle coffee addicts fix. I speed over and am delighted to see no cars in the drive-thru, I go inside and its empty, Get my latte and bag of cashews for breakfast. Service was snappy, and the latte hit the spot. In retrospect its nice to see the locals stick to what works for them. Thankfully for out of towners, this makes access to our staples a little less hectic.

This Starbucks always gives me much to strong to the already strong coffee. Although I’ve never had an unfriendly staff its usually slow and they don’t always know what they are doing. Much better service other places.

Out of the 3 Starbucks in Airdrie, I’d say this one is the worst. It’s hard to get in and out of it and the staff don’t provide a great customer experience. Also they always put too much coffee into a light drink.

This Starbucks doesn’t give me the same warm experience that I’m used to with other locations. The staff, while attentive, isn’t nearly as friendly or conversational as other coffee shops or Starbucks I’ve been to, even when the store isn’t terribly busy. The coffee is good, and the orders are typically as ordered, but the staff could use a bit more in the people department. I won’t stop going here, since it’s close, but it’s just a bit disappointing, nonetheless.
