This was my first Spanish experience, it’s a small tapas and paella restaurant in the centre of Diest. They have a very large selection of Spanish wines and several wines that go by glass. You can order tapas or paella separately but we went for the menu option where you get them both. I tried the apéritif of the house and loved it, cava with a dash of gin and red fruit. Then the tapas came first, chorizo, cheese, lovely mini peppers filled with crème fresh, and bread with all sorts of garnish. Followed by a pan filled with paella for two. It was the fist time ever for me so I can’t compare but I liked it. After that we had the option to choose our desert, and went with something chocolate and mascarpone. Which was although not typically Spanish — very tasty. Overall this restaurant is small but ok, it’s best to make reservations. The staff is helpful and friendly although they tend to be a bit sloppy and pushy at times.
