Great for a beer or maybe to watch soccer but food was terrible. Not one TV was on the entire 2 hours we were there. Steak and burger was so tough it was impossible to chew. Friendly staff. Clean restaurant. Just really bad meal.

Six Nations is located right off the Grand Place. Lots of outdoor seating and plenty of TVs make this sports bar comfortable for sports fans and people watchers alike. Menu was mostly Americanized fare(burgers, wings, poppers) with some Irish pub fare(steak and kidney pie or sausage and mash) mixed in as well. Not a cultural experience in the least, but a comfortable place for American travelers who might be looking for the comforts of home. My husband and I split an order of wings and garlic fries. The food was pretty standard, nothing that stood out, but decent and not too overly expensive considering the location. If you order the garlic fries, I would suggest ordering the aioli on the side to avoid your crispy fries getting soggy and especially if you are not a fan of a lot of garlic flavor. Sitting outside was quite pleasant. Service was very good and our server was attentive and friendly. Beer list, although not huge, had some good selections. Their house wine was decent for the price per glass. I would be more apt to explore some other Belgian offerings before coming back for a meal, but this is a great place to relax with an appetizer and drinks.

I stopped by here recently on a Sunday night for a night cap after dinner with a group of friends. There was only one other small group of 4 people so it was a quiet night. The bartender/owner was the surliest, most inhospitable person I have ever met. He started by insulting and being rude to one of my friends when he asked him if he had a particular cocktail that he wanted. What happened next, made us get up and leave without even finishing our beverages. There was an ashtray sitting on the bar next to where I was seated. This would indicate to most people that smoking was allowed so I lit up a cigarette. The bartender comes around from behind the bar, grabs the cigarette out of my mouth, throws it on the floor and stomps on it. He then proceeds to go on a ranting, barely intelligible tirade about how come I didn’t know you weren’t allowed to smoke inside. I travel every week for work to different countries and try to be very conscience of the local rules, but admittedly, I don’t know them all. I would have very happily put out my cigarette if he had asked me to. There was no need or cause for his overreaction. In fact, his physical reaction scared me being a female and having this guy come at me like that. I definitely will NOT be returning to this establishment in the future.

Best pub downtown to watch sports with an Irish or British flavour! Nice staff and a reasonable amount of TVs. Not the biggest, but that could be a good thing(O’Reillys, I’m looking at you) Location is great if you are near the Grand Place.

Stop. Just stop. I know what you’re about to say. Yes, I went to Brussels, mecca of food, and yes, I went to an Irish pub. It’s a disgrace I know, but I really was tired of looking. All in all? Good experience: Star 1: How was the service and atmosphere? Classic. Great location, built for a social, bar, or sports scene, and packed to the brim with native-english speakers. Cultural? Nope, but friendly and familiar whether you’re from America, Ireland or Australia. Quick, friendly service was a selling point, and the waiter was nice enough to give me a handle on cricket(strange sport that). Star Granted. Star 2: How were the portions relative to the cost? When in England, do as the English do yeah? And you know what the English do? They order Chicken Tikka Masala damint, so that’s what I did. For 9.50, I was right impressed: Sure that’s not quite as though as the classic takeaway cost, but it was a good meal on a good night out. Star Granted. Stars 3 and 4: How was the food? If I’m honest, this was better than half of the takeaways I got in London, real talk. Great seasoning, high quality chicken, and just the right amount of spice. Sure, the rice was a little weak, but overall this wasn’t a decision I regretted. Single Star Granted. Star 5: Would you eat here every day if you could? Tempting, but no. Six Nations is great, but I did feel a bit guilty walking out. You’re in Belgium damnit, go out and get some proper Belgium cuisine? However, if you’ve got a match to catch that’s not footy or you just want to be surrounded by some native English, Six Nations is the place. No Star Granted.

Located right off the Grand Place, this was our stop on Sunday morning– afternoon to watch the English Premier League games. Service was fun and upbeat, a resonable selection of beer, and the Irish Breakfast was quality and hit the spot. The rugby crowd outdrew the soccer crowd but it was a great, energetic afternoon for both sets of fans. The place is clean and has a patio if you are in the mood for some great people watching. We had a great time. Well done!

This is a great Irish pub just off of the Grand Place in Brussels. I happened upon this pub on Saint Patrick’s day, and though…“This is the place I need to be”. It was also the day of the Six Nations Rugby finals(England vs Ireland) so you can imagine the crazy energy. The staff was very very friend and fast, and the whole front is open(with outdoor seating. Typical Irish Pub atmosphere. Phil the bartender was great, and was Johnny on the spot with the drinks. He was running all over the place, and had a great sense of humor. I had the sausage and mashed potatoes. They make this with a local Cumberland pork sausage perfectly seasoned and served with a brown gravy. I also had the«jalapeño poppers» jalapenos stuffed with cheese, breaded and fried. I am not sure, but these tasted hand made(not the typical frozen product served in most pubs and restaurants), Btw…England won :-(
