Petit passage aux Kitty O’Shea’s à la sortie du bureau avec les collègues… Le bar regorge d’internationaux de la commission et atmosphère est vraiment sympa! C’est vraiment idéal pour aller boire un verre après ses heures de travail, surtout s’il fait beau et que vous pouvez déguster votre pinte dehors…
Nous on s’est assis dans l’arrière de l’endroit avec pour but de manger un petit bout et c’était malheureusement pas la meilleure idée. La nourriture est vraiment loin d’être extra-​ordinaire. Si les burgers avaient l’air de passer, ma salade était vraiment décevante. Un peu dommage, je m’attendais à mieux!
Bonne adresse pour un verre, un peu moins pour manger…

Great Irish bar near Schuman Circle. It’s a good place to watch rugby or go out for happy hour. You’ll probably run into a bunch of European Commission and other EU employees there. They pour a hearty pint of Guinness and Kilkenny but also serve other beers like Grimbergen. I had their Fish & Chips last time, and I thought it was pretty good. But a lot of people say their burger might be the very best burger in Brussels.

Alors la, ce fut une agreable surprise. On est arrive vers 12.45, le bar n etait pas trop rempli. un acceuil agreable. on nous apporte la carte et une fois le mot Hamburger passé, plus rien n avait d importance… mon collegue a bien essaye de de me faire change d avis. le stew, il est bon le stew. non non. moi je veux mon cheese burger. avec les frites et la salade…
et je dois dire que c est peut etre un des meilleurs hamburgers quej ai mange a Bruxelles. DE-​LI-​CI-​EUX. Bien cuit, tendre, bien assaissonne, le gout incroyable… hummmmm
Pour les amateurs d hamburger, je recommande les yeux fermes.

As organizers of a conference, we went there the first night as people were staying at the THON hotel a bit further down Rue de la Loi. We made a deal before going there which included one pint of beer per person and fingerfood for everyone for 10 €/​pers. We were about 40 people. Fingerfood was very tasty and there was actually enough of it. First batch was actually quite fancy (multiple layer sandwiches, etc), and later on, other batches tended more to the less classy fried food department. Still, it was good and was filling our stomachs to counter the not so few beers we had.
Except for us, it was empty, but the bartender told us this was because there was a big European meeting the next day, so regulars could not be there this night. Other nights, especially during big sport events, it can get quite full.
Waiter was extremely helpful and friendly during the whole night, and waited for us to leave before actually starting to close.
It is a big pub, so don’t expect the more cosy atmosphere you could find in some other pubs around.
Overall, very pleasant night.

Was kann ich sagen: seen one Irish pub, seen them all. Typisch Irisch pub mit viel Guinness und viele Englisch sprachige Gäste. Am Freitag und Samstag es ist ziemlich voll also wenn ihr zu spät dahin geht, dann es kann sein, dass ich gar nicht rein könnt. Gegen 22Uhr ist ganz OK dahin zu gehen. Es ist sehr groß auf zwei Ebenen. Die Stimmung ist geil und die Leute sind sehr cool. Das Personal ist sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Ich glaube 1 Mal der Woche gibt es Karaōke Abend. Es ist auch sehr cool.

If you like Irish pubs, I’m sure you’re in for a treat, because here you have a fully-​fledged Irish pub right in the heart of the Euro-​quarter of Brussels. However, I never really understood why, in a country where there are more native beers than days in a year, people still felt the need to go and quaff Guinness. That said, Kitty’s is a Brussels institution, and it does do some excellent bar food. Just wait til St Patrick’s Day when they bring out the Black Velvets (Guinness and champagne, don’t knock it til you’ve tried it). Mmmmm.

Si vous avez la nostalgie de l’Irlande vous y serez plongé à la seconde où vous franchissez la porte. On y parle anglais, on y boit anglais. Généralement bondé dès la sortie de bureau des fonctionnaires européens. Ambiance très hot les soirs de matches de foot surtout si l’Angleterre ou l’Irlande joue.
