The Sint-Jansplein is in the Northern part of Antwerp. If you walk from the Rooseveltplaats(main bus station of Antwerp) towards the«Hotel Terminus» and you keep on walking straight in the Van Maerlantstraat, you arrive quite unexpectedly at this big square. If you are looking for an alternative route for example to walk from the Central Station to the MAS museum, it could be a nice walk by the Sint-Jansplein and you will get to know a less-known neighboorhoud in Antwerp. The area around the square is mainly a living area. There are lots and lots of small shops, bakeries, restaurants, bars etc. so you will never get hungry here! There are a lot of Portugese influences here but also Turksih, Moroccan and Brazilian(and more). So if you need special meat, spices, bread or whatsoever, please come here! + There is a big market each Wednesday and Friday morning + There is a lot of space and a lot of movement + Lots of events on the square!(music, festival, market, fair.) + A playground for children + Lots of banks to sit on + A dog area + A basket/football space + Many shops with foreign food + Many bars & restaurants — It could be greener but the city chose for a different design(and Park Spoor Noord is only a few metres away!) — I guess that’s it! I love this place
