For my father-in-law’s birthday we were in the mood for Italian. We had yet to visit Renaissance, so I booked us a table.
Very beautiful building with a modern, chic interior. From first impressions, I was really looking forward to the meal.
But…I could tell when it came time to order that this was going to be a long meal. Way too few waiters for the crowded restaurant. When it came to drinks, we often sat with empty glasses (our waiter kept our wine at the bar) and sometimes we had to ask 3 times before they remembered to come with our wine or a bottle of water!
The food was good, but overpriced. My burrata first course was excellent, but my main course — the pasta with shrimp — was average.
The meal took almost 3 hours in total because the restaurant was so understaffed, the food was only good (not great), and it’s really expensive for an okay experience. Luckily I had great company!
