I love Greek food, so right after discovering this place I wanted to come for dinner. It looked traditional, located in a historic building, some mentioning to an old Greek association stared at the door… It had to be great! But it just turned out to be the most disappointing Greek restaurant I’ve come across so far. Service was nice(although a bit too slow), but the problem was the food. No traces of the authentic Greek food that I love so much. First we went for the fried feta cheese(gepaneerde feta), and it came with a salad with honey-mustard dressing. The salad tasted good, I like honey-mustard… but that’s not a Greek dressing. The feta cheese was too salty and the dish was overall nothing special. I had never eaten feta cheese prepared that way, and now I know why. It loses all the punch it has within a fresh tomato salad. I love fried cheese, but definitely not fried feta. Then I tried the vegetarian moussaka. It came after a disappointing long wait: the size was too small and the taste was rough. I could not find the flavor of fresh vegetables, to me it reminded more to a pub meal than to a fresh mediterranean dish. On top of that, it tasted a lot to some sort of flavor enhancer, which was really annoying. I truly hate MSG. We also ordered the gyros speciaal, which had nothing special. It consisted in a bowl with much meat, a few strips of green and red pepper, onion and a bit of mushrooms. All this, fried and then baked with a bit of gouda cheese on top. No traces of feta here. It came with a small dish of chips that had been fried at the Belgian manner: not in olive oil at all, and not even in sunflower oil. They seemed frozen chips and were tasteless. The price was definitely not in line with the quality. We will not come back.
