One of the best Cantonese restaurants in Antwerp. It’s not your typical Chinese restaurant, where everything is greasy and reheated. They work with fresh produce and try to bring out the real Cantonese kitchen. We usually take the dim sum menu that is around 27euro p/p. You get an assortment of starters(dim sum, spring rolls etc) and for main to share chicken in black bean saus, pak soy and duck. The staff and service is very friendly and helpful. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the mood for fancy Chinese.

The best Chinese restaurant I’ve ever enjoyed! Although it’s not just Chinese, the dishes come mostly from that cuisine. Modern Asian might serve as a more apt description, especially considering the modern but tasteful and inviting interior. The dishes are prepared fresh, and you’ll taste it. So be prepared to wait a few minutes or more for your main dish. And you won’t be disappointed! I started with the spicy soup(what we would call hot and sour in the States) which, as previously mentioned, had fresher ingredients than I’ve seen before. It was also sweeter, and I’m not sure it was completely to my taste — but that was more an issue of what I’m used to. I actually quite enjoyed the soup. For my main dish, I had the udon noodles with the spicy sauce and chicken. Again, very fresh, and I was very pleased to see a large portion presented very nicely. Especially for the only 10.50 euros it cost me. The sauce was so delicious, I ate the remainder of it with the supplied spoon as though it were a soup. My friend ordered the beef Teppanyaki which tasted like a fancy version of the black pepper beef you can sometimes get at Chinese restaurants in the States(though it’s apparently a Japanese dish). I had the house white wine, which was a pleasant Sauvignon Blanc. But it didn’t stand up to the food. I’d recommend beer, tea, or water instead. The calvados I drank for my digestif was strangely served in a heavy bourbon glass, and was certainly nothing to write home about. But it is an Asian restaurant, and even if they had had Japanese potato brandy on offer, I wouldn’t have ordered it! Lastly, my review would be lacking if I did not mention the wonderful service we received. Always quick, attentive, friendly, and just perfect. I have never been to a Chinese restaurant that offered such a great mix of coolness, value, friendly service, and yet the feeling(and taste) of haute cuisine. I can’t recommend Tang’s highly enough. If you’re looking for great Asian food in Antwerp, look no further!
