Fun atmosphere. Beer selection was decent. Music was nice. A little too busy but I’d go back.

First, let me say something about Antwerp: It is a beautiful city, like Ghent or Brugge, but unlike those, it does not feel like a museum. You can feel, that withing the old houses and all the restaurants, there is a very hip city life going on. And De Muze perfectly fits this description. Very good choice of beers, old rugged and a very charming appearance and, during my visit(and it didn’t seem as an exceptional thing) a live mellow, easy listening jazz band, which made me want to get six more beers, imeediately turn 18 again and stay there until the closing time. Next time, I’m taking a train to Antwerp!

what more than great atmosphere, great music and a wide drinks selection can one expect from a bar?

Beautiful place and a strong concept. Music is often high quality. In my experience service is often of low quality and sometimes rude. You pay one euro extra on each order when a band plays. This is not clear to the unexpecting visitor.

De Muze is a jazz pub located in the city centre of Antwerp. It is beautifully styled, has great live music and a good selection of beers. It is perfect for a relaxing night and is ideal both for groups and for couples. Afterwards a tour in the neighbourhood is highly recommended.

Always a treat, even when there are no performances. Please do mind: this is no place for loud, large groups of annoying people– this place is for Jazz loving/beer and winetasting folks.

It was a Saturday night and someone recommended this place to me as a great jazz place. Four of us arrived there around 11pm and the jazz music seeping out of the doors and through the cracks in the pavement. This place was awesome. The trouble with awesome is that when others find it, it also get crowded. Downstairs we couldn’t get near the bar or move very much, so saw some stairs and climbed them to see another bar up there. Not only was there a bar but there were also 4 stools at the bar, so the 4 of us bellied up there and ordered drinks. I grinned when I saw the drinks menu and spotted the Tripel d’Anvers, which someone on Unilocal had recommended. We ordered 3 of them and a G&T. The drinks cost a total of 18.60 Euro, which was dirt cheap, in my opinion compared to bars that charge 10+ for mixed drinks. They charged a little bit more as they do when there is live music. The place is worth stopping in!

I happened upon this place one night while walking the streets of antwerp. Am i sure glad i found this place. They had a «WWII /Andrews Sisters» type group singing and the place was just brimming with spirit. Not only are the bartenders friendly, but its an all around great crowd. I stopped here 3 – 4 times on my trip to Antwerp,

Awesome jazz bar. I can still picture the old guy with the bushy-ass eyebrows killing the room on the sax.

Atmospheric multistorey jazz café with daily performance of local musicians(with an out-of-tune piano and all). Surprisingly mixed audience of teenagers, elderly, Turks, you name it. We ordered drinks at the same time as a Dutch couple at our table and they received their order 10 minutes later than we did and had to pay 1 euro extra(‘after 23:00′)! This weird ‘service’ and the indoor smoking make it a letdown.
