holy molly, what a nice coincident this popped up for review on my profile. this restaurant is special indeed. if you are looking for a salt overdose on tasteless defrosted chicken or fish, this is your place. free stomache ache from all the diesel oil used to fry them in too. all that for only 8 € per dish. Enjoy.

good price quality. you get simple but tasty fish and chips. in different ways prepared, several crusts. you can also choose chivken in case you are not into fish. nice sauce included. me and my friends we chose different tastes so we could compare. nice simple food. a place for a quick bite. only thing missing were more softdrink options

All of the problems I had with their Brussels Location have been solved in their Antwerp restaurant! It’s a warm, spacious, quiet place. I also loved their current menu; try the homemade lemonade(spiked with vodka or gin for a few euros more). Lovely fresh flavors with fresh fish(so fresh that if they run out of quality fish they close the restaurant early). They even have more classic flavors for the less adventurous. Really can’t go wrong here.

Amazing! Food is incredibly good, the squid is wowwww the best one ever! And the fact that it is sustainably fishing makes it even better… service is also great!

Come fishy, fishy, fishy! I am amazed by this place. Barry and Simon both form Dublin started their adventure in the streets of Dublin selling Mackerel Fish & Chips. They created a new style of Fish & Chips using fresh and ecological fish. I repeat FRESH and ECOLOGICAL. They pay 24% more for their fish to be fresh and ecological. This means that they care! Barry told me they have like fifty different styles of Fish & Chips recipes. Fifty that’s almost one different style for every week of the year. Can you imagine?! Their story is incredible and inspirational. From Dublin to Brussels, Camden and Antwerp and who knows what’s next?! Okay enough about the concept and the background story. HOWISTHEFOOD ?! DELICIOUS! I ordered the classic fish and chips and my boyfriend the calypso with mango ketchup. The fish is perfectly cooked and the crust is very crunchy as is should be. The seasoning of the calypso was really tasty and the mango ketchup was a perfect companion. The classic fish and chips is classically good! ;) Except the fish there are also allot of delicious seaweed salted chips in your wooden box! Goddam are these chips heavenly good. The perfect size, crunch and taste. The sides are a perfect companion for your delicious fish and chips. I absolutely loved the samphire with cucumber. Normally I don’t talk about drinks in a restaurant because it’s always the classic soda, beer or wine. Not at Bia Mara! Bia Mara serves beers form the brussels beer project, a collaborative project using co-creation with you the consumer and other beer brewers. We especially loved the Grosse Bertha. All this for a reasonable price! Try it and you will see I’m not lying!
