Hangar13

Hangar13 is a coffee shop and second hand store all in one!
It might seem like an odd combination but it makes total sense seeing as though they are all about giving back to the community. Their motto is «Feed Yourself = Feed Others» and the logo is a coffee cup with angel wings extending out from it.
Run by the Christian Motorcycle gang, The Saints, Hangar13 has only recently opened its doors in Zillmere. Currently they are just selling coffee in the café part of the shop, but soon hope to be serving food as well.
They are serving up their own house blend of coffee beans, roasted by North Brisbane roastery, CleanSkin Coffee Co. Stop by for a coffee and browser the store for some vintage home-​wares. There are a number of tables along the footpath, and also some seats along the bench inside.
Hangar13 are also in the process of starting Food Parcels for the community — sourcing quality produce from local providers at cost price, and selling it on to the community for affordable prices.
They tell me they plan to hold events and free sausage sizzles in the future. Everything they do is for the community, to try and give something back to this local area. Zillmere doesn’t have the best reputation and I’m glad to see a group trying to turn this around.
I am excited to see what comes next at Hangar13.
